After seeing all the great reviews of this product, I couldn't wait to buy it. I received it today and, while it works as advertised, I'm not all that impressed. Pros: Easy way to store cosmetics and the like when traveling. I can see the appeal of not having to dig around a regular bag looking for particular items and for having a clean, washable surface for my stuff to lay on. Cons: The material is flimsier than I thought it would be and the lip or rim isn't very high nor is it stiff. It's really just a flat, round piece of nylon. There is no structure to the bag at all, so when you close it up with all your stuff in it, the bag is all lumpy and round. It doesn't look all perfect like in the picture. A couple of other notes, which aren't really pros or cons: My bag didn't look the same as the picture. It had black lettering instead of white (or is that silver?). I actually like it in black so that's OK with me. Also, mine looks quilted and in the picture it is smooth. Finally, 20" is pretty big. I bought this for a trip abroad where I knew I wouldn't have a lot of space to lay all of my makeup out. I would have gladly given this product five stars, it made my life a lot easier. Once I was done with my makeup I could just cinch up the bag. Unfortunately, I discovered a pretty big tear in my bag today which is really sad. I have barely had the product for a month and I did not treat the bag harshly or throw it around or anything like that. Poor design! The orig design for kids’ toys doesn’t translate well to cosmetics. Drawstring pulls from only one side which is clumsy and leaves you with 2 foot of cord to wrap up and put ‘somewhere.’. Even after tightly cinching it leaves a hole in the top that a makeup brush or liner pencil can fall through - if you’re traveling those will be be gone forever! Yes, there are elastic bands meant to hold those but they are miss-sized. They’re either too small or too large to hold most common sizes of brush (large or small) or pencils or mascaras. Bundling them up to fit is clumsy. I bought this for travel and convenience, to be able to have items spread out in a ‘tray’ and then gather them up easily/quickly. Love this and would buy it again. I bought in black and the only thing I wish is that I would have looked to see if it came in another color as most of my makeup is in black containers so it blends in with the bag and is hard to find the one I am looking for. Not even sure if they make other colors as I was in a hurry when I ordered it, saw the black and pulled the trigger. I love the bag though. Read more

This makeup bag is pretty ingenious; though so simple if you are a home sewer you can whip one up in a few minutes on your own machine. It lets you capture all your makeup products in one place, spread them out to enable you to dig for what you want, and then just pull the string and close it up. My concern with it is the pull string. It is too thin (and it is very long) after you have closed the bag. I replaced my string with thicker cording and that helped a lot. Wow, finally someone invented this!! I was so tired of not being able to find my makeup in my makeup bag. I would have to take everything out just to find one thing. This bag is amazing! I also bought four more of these for people as Christmas gifts and everyone is obsessed! If you wear makeup, you need this bag.I only use this for travel, because I have clear drawers on my bathroom counter for all my makeup at home. So, I cannot attest to the wear and tear of it yet.I love that the bag comes in different colors. I have ordered blue (so pretty), purple (nice), black, leopard (cute), black/blue circles (pretty), and silver (wow). I travel a lot, and like a lot of women I tend to have my make up in different bags that I try to organize, but it never seems to stay organized! And there are make-up, usually powder, spills everywhere, and it's kind of a disaster...so I was really excited about this product because I wanted a place that I could just put everything, lay it flat, use it as a catch-all, and then just swoop it up when I'm ready to leave. This does the job. Easy to clean, too. It's true that even after you gather it up and cinch it there's a gap/opening, but you could put it into another bigger bag, use a smaller case for smaller items and brushes and/or put a piece of tape on powder canisters to prevent spills. In the future it would be nice if they could create a zippered compartment, that way smaller items and messy stuff could be isolated before closing with drawstring. Still, overall a great product! LOVE this bag! I just got it today for Christmas. I used to keep all my make up and brushes in a cosmetic bag, and then dump them all out on the table when I sat down to do my make up. But I've always been concerned about how clean the table surface was. I was afraid that I was getting bacteria on my brushes from the table. I even bought plastic mats to use, but they required being sanitized after every use. With this bag I just open it up and all of my make up is right there - no dumping it out onto unclean surfaces. I can't say enough about this item! So easy to use and I love how easy it is to find your cosmetics once you lay it flat. So much better than a cosmetic bag. I would give this 10 stars if I could. Worth every penny. My friends love it too and asked me where I got it. The shape also makes it easy to fit into luggage or totes as it just moulds into whatever space you can shove it into, different from a large bulky cosmetic bag. Bought it for a friend. She said it was a great item she invested in as she has little space for a vanity table and placed only what she needed in there. She does say that the opening on the top is very small but can have items slip out. Just need to be careful with it. However, she enjoys using it and is great for traveling and if you're just on the go. I would purchase for myself when my current make-up case gives. Read more

I love this bag!!!! I can travel with so much more than I could with ordinary makeup bags. The price has gone up since I've purchased it but the size and quality is perfect and makes it so worth it. I was able to throw it in the wash after a few uses with no problems. I will say that if you're looking for organization this is not the bag for you (just one awkward pocket) but if you want something that is easy and compact but still fits everything you need then BUY THIS BAG!! Love it! So handy for me because I just dont have time to neatly put all my makeup away in the morning. For me it isnt able to close completely at the top, but thats because I keep way too much makeup in it I think. But even then nothing falls out, it keeps it all in even though its overstuffed.
