I’ve never been one for products, but I’ve been trying some new grooming techniques for my beard and hair, this being among them. So far I really like this Styling Pomade. The can is cool looking - a nice presentation. It’s water based, which I am not sure if that’s good or bad, but as far as how it feels, I like it. It’s not oily or gooey and pasty. It is fine on my hands following (wash with soap and water) and doesn’t leave a residue.There is a smell, but honestly, I just had to go smell it to remind myself if it was good or bad - it’s neither. It’s just... there. I have not used it at the same time as my beard oil/balm, but I do not believe it would overtake that scent nor my cologne, and it feels to me as though it doesn’t create a smell while on my head.Putting it on and spreading it is fairly easy - it doesn’t clump up. It seems to get through my hair fine for coverage. I’d read the reviews prior to using and I agree; the included “comb” is pretty useless. Then again, I have never used anything like it - but my comb works fine. My hair, unfortunately, is not cut to use this stuff in a style that works - it doesn’t flip right and too short in spots. So right now I plan to 1. grow it out at times with pomade in mind for cutting and using and, 2. use it for spiking when I go short - which is how I usually wear my hair. Since Covid I let it grow out longer, so at this point it’s a bit longer, but again, not styled in a specific way that makes this looks styled when in use. The Kwan Yee Gor Medium Shine Pomade and comb is a perfect set in concept for achieving a slick back or pompadour hairstyle, but I personally didn't like the formula of the pomade. Compared to the pomades I typically use, the Kwan Yee Gor pomade was too tacky and pulled on my hair. While most pomades have some sort of tackiness and pull on the hair, I felt that this one was too tacky even with wet hair and remained tacky throughout the day. Tackiness aside, I hold of this pomade is very strong.While I'm not the biggest fan of the pomade, I deny the quality of the product. The pomade's can has a metal exterior keeping with the classic pomade can and a plastic inner lining to prevent rust from forming and contaminating the pomade. The product has a somewhat strong floral scent in the can when first applying, but the scent dissipates after wearing it for a while.Regarding the comb, I actually really like the comb and continue to use it when I want a slick and uniform pompadour. Due to the angling and channels of the comb, it does a great job.Overall, opinions aside, I'm leaving a four-star rating due to the nice comb, quality pomade, and value. If you don't like overly tacky pomades, I wouldn't recommend this to you. However, if you don't mind tackiness and want a strong hold and medium shine pomade, you might like it. Read more

This barber grade kit by KWAN YEE GOR has a really cool artistic flare with its design features.The metal tin of styling pomade has this artistic charm that my son really found interesting. Filled with a thick, pasty, water based, styling pomade that adds shines and a medium hold to a hairstyle.We did not personally like the scent of this pomade. Easy to apply and style hair as it's a workable pomade, not too quick too dry. Being that it's a water soluble substance, it does wash out of the hair cleanly, leaving no types of residue or substances in the hair.Another great quality of this pomade is that it doesn't build up in the hair! Yes, of course if too much product is applied at once it will be goopy but not if applied sparingly.The small comb is way too small for styling head hair but the perfect aize and shape for beard and mustache grooming!All in all, this really cool designed packaging for this kit is likeable. As for the products, I feel they are good for those whom like to use these types.As a whole, it's a nice set for gifting any man or boy who lives to groom! Read more

I've been using the product for a few weeks now and really like it. It's not too often we find a product that works this well and comes with additional accessories. The product itself is smooth and easy to apply. Doesn't leave my hands feeling greasy or oily. Holds all day in place unless I want to change it up. Apply to slightly damp hair for an even application I've come to find.The accessory comes with it is kind of small but works well in beards and shorter hair. Definitely good for finding a part in your hair and maximizing the look. Easy to grip and use. I just wish the teeth were a little longer to go deeper into my hair.The package came in a nicely displayed case with a window so you can see the comb and hair product well. The details on the box were cool and the unique artwork makes this a great gift for guys looking to step up their appearance. Read more

I ordered this to go back to using more boutique brand items for hair and personal care.I stopped using pomade style products a couple years ago and moved to a gel product. I was never really satisfied with the big box store gel.This is a really nice gift pack.The hold isn’t bad at all, I like it and the scent isn’t too strong like some other products.I have shorter hair that I spike up a little in the front and this worked perfect.As for the brush, it’s useless for your hair. I can’t figure out how you would use it comfortable.BUT for my beard it’s amazing! It’s a perfect hold and almost massaging effect for my beard. Read more
