I've used Allegra before it was Allegra with outstanding results. It used to take Seldane. It was the only medicine that took care of my allergies. But something in it was causing heart problems so they took it off the market. My allergist gave me samples of all of the other allergy medicines and told me to let her know which one worked best, but none of them controlled my allergies like Seldane had. When Allegra was introduced, I tried it and my allergies were completely under control for the first time since I had been on Seldane several years before. I found out that Allegra (fexo-fenadine) was a safer reformulation of Seldane (ter-fenadine).Fexofenadine has been manufactured in generic form since 2011. When they began selling it over the counter, I needed to find a way to save money since my pharmacy plan no longer covered it so I began taking generic versions of fexofenadine. When I compared the prices of the different brands, this one was the most economical at 26 cents per tablet. (One seller is advertised at 21 cents per tablet but that doesn't include the shipping since that seller doesn't have free shipping. When the shipping price is included, it is also 26 cents per tablet.) When Amazon advertises the cost per tablet, they don't include shipping so it may not be the actual cost per tablet. At the time of this review (August 2017), the most economical cost of fexofenadine is the 180 count of Kirkland Signature Aller-Fex 180 mg which is selling at 23 cents per tablet.By contrast, the cheapest brand name Allegra comes to 29 cents per tablet ONLY if you sign up for Subscribe & Save and have at least 5 other Subscribe & Save items. Otherwise, the best price is 31 cents per tablet. (If you don't have 5 Subscribe & Save items, the savings is 5% to Subscribe & Save to < than 5 items which comes to 32 cents per tablet.)As far as the efficacy of the Kirkland Signature Aller-Fex 180 mg, I've been taking it for over a month and its been working very well. For example, ragweed pollen and mold counts are high for my area, many of my co-workers are sneezing and coughing, and I haven't had any problems at all. The only time that I've noticed my nose running is when it's been almost 24 hours since I last took it. Once I take it, I'm good for another 24 hours. It also doesn't make me drowsy. Read more
SOOOOOOOOOOOOO happy I found this product. I was at the store and the had 70 tablets for the same price. I suffer from severe allergies (cats, dogs, tree, mold, grass, etc), there is barely a day I can go without needing allergy meds at some point in time. I use to take other medications and I would have to take both brands together just to get some relief. I started taking the generic for Allegra and seriously have had a great response to it. I started taking it during a road trip with a cat in the car, I am crazy allergic to cats but I thought if I double up on the other medication I would be fine, right???? WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!! The time I was awake I was suffering-- then I took the medication and passed out again. So we stopped in and got the Allegra and I was fine after I took it, like seriously had no clue there was a cat in the car good. (okay enough of my allergies just had to give a background. Aller-Fex is just as good as the real thing. I currently live with said cat and there are some days I notice her (allergy wise) but nothing like it would be without the medication. Also I don't notice any of the trees or pollen in the area which also "kill" me. I would recommend not letting any time lapse between when your dosage if you take it constantly like me. If you are a 5+ hours late taking the medication trust me you'll notice. I also recommend this to a friend who's son also has severe allergies and he was so excited to be able and play without needing his inhaler, he didn't even notice. I swear by this stuff Read more
Such a great value! I had tried other OTC allergy pills, and this one is the only one that doesn't give me headaches. I like this brand because it is such a good deal. My son and I both take these, so we go through 60 pills a month. Saving some money on them helps. Of course, they really don't last 24 hours - I don't think any allergy pill every does...but they work pretty well for about 18 hours. Not too hard to swallow either.*personal (and regular) purchase. I have taken this for years without any side effects. I have numerous allergies and had Allergy Shots for 5 years, but still need this medication. It is better than other types of Antihistamines and with this brand I do not see any difference than the name brand Allerga! Read more
Great replacement for the expensive name brand (definitely saves us a bunch during allergy season). They're a little bit bulky, I'm including a picture of one pill sitting on a dime with my pinky nail. I take them down fine with some water, but just a warning if anyone has a problem with larger pills. Read more
MY ALLERGIST TOLD ME I CAN TAKE MORE THAN ONE A DAY. CHECK WITH YOU DOCTOR. SINCE I NOW USE IT MORE THAN ONCE A DAY IT HAS ME COVERED ALL DAY AND NIGHT. THIS IS ALLEGRA GENERIC AND THE COST IS FAIR AND IT IS DELIVERED FOR FREE. THIS DRUG ALLOWS THIS ALLERGY SUFFERER WITH ASTHMA TO PLAY TENNIS, RIDE A BIKE AND SLEEP WELL. WHAT MORE CAN YOU ASK? Love this!! My herbalist told me part of my chronic sinus issues was related to the antihistamines I was taking previously. She said I had become dependent on them and I NEEDED them so went through withdrawal, so was really making things worse (it was chlorpheniramine). She recommended me to switch to Allegra, so I did and it's WAY better! This is the same thing and so much more affordable, especially since I have to take these every day year round. This helps me get through the days without being a gross snotty mess. Love it! Read more
Incredible value for the amount!! This works just as well as the brand name and/or any of the generics sold by Wal-Mart, Target, Walgreens, CVS, etc. I've been on this medication for nearly 20yrs (back when it was still prescription only) for allergies, as I've found it works the best for me- and yes I've tried every new one that's come out since then, but this one works the best for me. It kills me to have to pay for it in the store if I forget to order it here before it runs out! I've been using this brand for a couple of years now. No complaints or problems, ever. Read more
