The media could not be loaded.  This toy was a real disappointment. I got it for my 18-month- old son and I wouldn’t even consider giving it to him. The first thing I noticed, when I opened the shipping box was that, although it is listed as being for 1-4 year old boys and girls, it comes with a warning not to give it to anyone under 3 years old, as some pieces may be a choking hazard. As I looked at the toy itself, I found several other problems. First, there was a piece of glue on one of the hammers that had dried and had a sharp edge. There was also glue on the toy itself -- this wasn’t a problem, but looked messy and was indicative of the quality. The plywood frame had a long hole with sharp edges that will give off splinters. Finally, I picked up one of the xylophone mallets to go up the scale and the notes were all wrong. It wasn’t do re mi, it was just a random bunch of noises! The only thing he’ll learn from that is to hate music!As I currently live in Korea, it will cost me more than I paid for it to return it, but there is no value here. It’s going straight to the trash!Update: I was just contacted by the seller, who went out of his way to reply to this review. He appears to be very sincere and says he's changed the manufacturer to ensure better quality and also that he is willing to give us a refund. I have raised the rating here from 1 star to 2 and will add more details as they arise.Update 2: The seller offered me a partial refund ($20) but only if I took down the review. Over several emails, I explained that I would leave the review up but I would add details of the customer service I received. As I was impressed that he had contacted me, I thought the eventual review, while still including my dissatisfaction with the product, would be positive because of my overall experience. However, their emails were limited to an attempt to bribe me to suppress my review of the toy. I have changed the rating back to its original 1 star. Read more

I have a similar other hammer toy which is little cheaper, but I would prefer this one because of multiple fidget plays to keep my LO busy for a bit longer. As you can see in the video my 2.5 years old toddler loves the xylophone more than the hammer part. She is not very interested in the numbered buttons. My 2-year-old grandson loves hammering the whack-a-mole game! The moving numbers are a good challenge for his fine motor skills -- it's not easy for him yet, so we play it together, which is fun for me! The xylophone is a bit off-key to my adult ears, but he thinks it's a symphony and goes at it with a mallet in each little hand! I'm impressed by the construction of this toy and appreciate the smooth edges and fine crafting. I also appreciate that this toy is made of wood (not plastic) -- it's a pleasant nostalgic feeling for me, and a good solid toy for him. Read more

We love this toy! One of the toys baby comes back to again and again all day. took away the sticks it came with to play the xylophone. too pointy for her age. most likely will be able to give them to her when shes more coordinated and less likely to put her own eye out. She has a wooden kitchen spoon that does the job for now :) one of the sliding counting wood disks did come cracked in half. able to glue and clamp it. not a big enough deal for me to send it back. but if i had been gifting it i would have returned for another one. The kids love it. It's great that our two kids can both play at the same time and it's multiple different activities in one. Xylophone, hammering and counting.That being said, one con is the wood is scarred/dented too easily, sometimes even when being hammered gently.This is not a huge problem because it is still safe to use, but I felt like it was worth mentioning so no one is surprised by it. I had been thinking about getting some sort of peg-pounding device for some time and figured approaching 2 years old was probably a good time - especially since my son is currently intent on fixing everything. He loves pounding on things and listening to the different sounds different things make when hit with the hammer. He loves his toy. I like solid, wooden toys when I can find them. I don't like buying toys with a lot of pieces but this pounding bench was made so that the pegs could not be pounded out. Instead, the pegs on the left were connected to the pegs on the right so when you pound one peg and it goes down, the other side comes up. Genius! The handle on the hammer has a nice long size, it comes with 2 hammers and 2 mallots for the xylophone, so no fights between siblings. I love the 3 in one toy. The numbers 0-9 are easy movable and are nicely colored very easy for little hands to move them around. Read more

My son loves this wooden activity especially the hitting the the pop up animals on top.It comes with 2x hammers and 2x sticks to play the Xylophone.Its well put together but not masive so it takes up the hole house and nice bright colours.The number games is fun 2 and will grow with my son he is to young for it at the moment and its quite tricky to move the number round for him at the moment. My 18month old Grandson absolutely loved this toy. He hammers away with great gousto & as it's wooden therefore durable I don't worry about how tough he is. Just a small problem though,the hammer head keeps coming off the stick so be aware as it tends to cling off mid hammer😉😀 Read more

I got this for my grandson for Christmas. He loved it. The bright colours, sounds it made and the way the sticks popped up. However within days the picture or laminated image started peeling. We noticed as he had a bit in his mouth very worrying a he could have choked. I didn't message sooner as I've been away and just got back. It didn't even last a week. Read more
