As a FTM I bought 3 different colors of these hoping for the best. The quality is great and adjustments snaps are easy. My baby is 3 months and almost 12lbs on the last adjustment and fits really well still. My biggest complaint (a big one) is the velcro design is NOT kind to a newborn umbilical cord healing process. My baby belly button was trying to heal and the velcro kept stabbing her with every crunch, sit and movement. (She was home same day as birth) As first time parents we thought, oh newborn baby crys, yes but this is one reason why that didn't need to happen! We would find her blood on the velcro which was sharp on top. It went straight across. My husband ended up cutting out a horse shoe shape to accommodate her button. SEE IMAGES. Only then we had less tears, crying and her cord stop bleeding within a day or so. That's a pretty big deal, but the cover is really nice and velcro is easier than the snaps in the first few weeks. Especially at night. After a while it didn't matter snaps/velcro. We ended up using disposable at night as cloth was too many night leaks and clothing changes. Major design flaw but I would still recommend as adjustment was easy to alter with an x-acto knife. Technically, the consumer shouldn't have to adjust the cover, they should just make a better might organic shaped newborn cover. It is a thicker cover which is not nessesary. It just makes baby booty bigger but it's not leak prevention. I prefer thinner ones like thirsty covers. Overall, it was a good starter cover. Read more
My baby isn’t here yet and it will be my first time cloth diapering so I can’t speak to day-to-day use, but I bought a cover to compare the thirsties, rumparooz, and clotheez brand newborn covers. This one is made of very soft material, almost silky, which is nice. It’s softer than the thirsties, though I don’t know if that would make much of a difference. The main thing I wanted to test was the label. I read reviews saying it wicks moisture so I wanted to test it before buying a bunch. I soaked a washcloth, wrung it out, laid it inside the diaper, and then laid a detergent bottle over it (my very schientific approximation of the weight of a baby). I set a timer for 15 minutes and there was a little wetness visible right on the edge of the label. At 30 minutes it had spread to about 1/4 inch. Hopefully no one is leaving a newborn in a soaked diaper that long, but in my opinion anything that’s dealing with liquidy newborn poop should be designed better than that. It’s nice that these are softer and cheaper than thirsties and it’s surprising that such a popular brand would have this issue, but I decided I’d rather minimize the risk of leaks, so I returned the cover and took it off my registry. I bought a variety of different kinds of cloth diapers in preparation for my newborn. I had all in ones (which are great for being in the diaper bag or left with grandparents because of their ease), hybrids, wool, prefolds with PUL covers etc etc. I really wanted to try it all! Rumparooz were definitely my favorite PUL cover.Advantages:1. Really great fit. I tried other covers as well and none fit as well as these.2. Love the prints - they look even cuter in person!3. Although doing the pre-fold and cover option can seem daunting, it really isn't. It actually is really easy, and funny enough is the one my husband prefers (even over the all in ones). Don't even worry about doing fancy folds and using pins or stretchy clips to keep them in place. Just open the cover, lay a tri-folded pre-fold in it, velcro and go!4. They fit longer than other newborn covers. I had a chunky baby that decided to start to outgrown her newborn diapers at around 6 weeks. But these lasted until she was about 10 weeks.Disadvantages:1. My only issue is the velcro. I'm really not a fan, and it mostly has to do with washing. Even if I stick them to the tabs before I wash, they still sometimes came undone and grabbed on to other things in the wash. And also I probably sometimes forgot to stick them to the tabs as well...because who can remember that at 3 a.m? :) Read more
I bought this diaper to start out my prefold stash for a newborn, using a newspaper fold and a snappi. The cover did not fit during the newborn stage for my 7 lb 12 oz girl. She is long and lean. After about a month it fit great and still fits great at the 2 month mark and we are only using the 2 row of rise snaps. Lots of room to grow. I can get an excellent fit with the hook and loop. We have trouble fitting snap diapers, especially around the legs. Never leaks, even overnight. It is my favorite cover I own out of my all my covers, which includes Thirsties, Bummis and Button, in addition to the Rumparooz. Even though the diaper cover is a little bigger than a newborn size, I would purchase it again in a heartbeat. Read more
So I love the fit of this diaper cover. The color is beautiful. It’s softer than other covers. However there is a serious drawback. I’m going to say it’s a design flaw. They sewed their product label on the butt like a patch. Every time she has a full diaper it leaks through the stitching. I’ve given it many chances but it happens every time. I’m so disappointed. I would love this cover if it weren’t for that fatal flaw. The whole point of a cover is to keep dry. Read more
I purchased two of these covers as well as the hook and loop x-small Thirsties covers. I have to be honest and say the Thirsties covers are better and easier to use. The main thing that I do not like about these covers: when my baby pees the cover gets wet in areas (the tag, leg gussets) that requires me to have to change the cover out. This happens almost every first time he wets. It doesn't matter if I have him in a prefold, GMD workhorse, inserts, the cover has too many areas that don't repel water. I have not had any problems like this with our Thirsties. Read more
This diaper cover is very good except for one major flaw that outshines all of good characteristics. The rumparez label is sewn at the back which causes the cover to leak. I used it on my newborn for one week without any issues. But after a couple of washes it started to leak at the back where label is sewn. I bought two of these and these are useless now. Total waste of money Read more

I really wanted to like these covers but there is a major design flaw with this brand. Like other reviewers, I have had several incidents with leaks through the rubber labels on the back. A quick search around the Internet shows that many others have had the same problem for years, and the company's response was to increase the absorbency of the inserts. However, I've only had leaks with this brand and not others (for example the much cheaper and very reliable KaWaii Baby brand), and the inserts just need to be damp, not even saturated, for moisture to start wicking through the cotton stictches sewned onto the rubber label. This is very frustrating and inconvenient. You would have thought the manufacturer can just easily change the placement of the label after years of customer complaints!I wanted to like these diaper covers because of the trim fit on small babies. Double leg gussets are always useful to have, though the leg fit on my baby isn't quite right. Aplix closure is convenient and easy to use; however the flaps must be carefully snapped onto the laundry tabs otherwise they will destroy other items in the wash. I also find that the Aplix edges are a bit sharp and sometimes rub against baby's belly, especially if baby likes to kick or do froggy legs. Considering these issues on top of the leaks caused by the label placement, I cannot recommend this brand despite loving the patterns and wanting to make these work. Read more
