I have si joint dysfunction. My insurance denied surgery saying it was experimental. It was to the point I could not stand, sit, or lay down. For two years I suffered with debilitating pain. I ordered msm and waited awhile before I actually tried it. I just have to say... Praise the Lord! It is seriously a miracle. I have not had a sleepless night since April 20th. I remember the day because it was my 40th Birthday and I cried all day thinking this is how I'm going to spend my 40th and the rest of my life.... stuck in bed. If I feel my si joint the least bit starting to pull and wrap around my hip. My calf also burns non stop, which also went away. I add about a tbsp of msm crystals to my 16oz. Bottled water and the next day the pain is gone. I do not use the fine crystals. For some reason that one hurts my belly. I use the reg. crystals and give my water a good shake. I don't measure anymore. I just put a heaping spoonful or two through a small funnel into my water. Please give this a try it truly is a "miracle" and does take joint/muscle pain completely away. I switched from the big tablets of MSM to these flakes, so taking MSM is nothing new to me. This is definitely the pure form of it. It completely and easily dissolves into cold water forming a clear liquid. It doesn't taste good, but I don't care. I wasn't expecting it to taste good. It's sulfur and methane. I wouldn't expect either of those to taste good. I can easily take a lot more of this format of MSM than those giant pills, so I can easily ramp up my dosage, and I like that. Since I've been taking MSM for years, there is not much else to notice at this point. When I first started taking MSM years ago I noticed a heavy detox reaction from it. I had tons of things that seemed like pimples, but they weren't pimples, in various parts of my body, rise up and they were releasing built up toxins from my body. A small scar from long ago wound started oozing out toxins, and eventually dried out and stopped doing that, and all the pimple things went away, and never came back. I then noticed much less inflammation in my joints and that is still what is happening with this stuff. So, I will always take some form of MSM. **UPDATE** I wanted to do an update after using this for a while. First of all, I am no longer feeling the initial energy I was getting after a dose but I think that is because I need to use more than a quarter of a teaspoon. What I HAVE gotten super results with is using this on my hair. I added about a tablespoon to about 1.5 cups of water and I spray a little onto my natural hair every morning to refresh the curls. I think what is happening is that the water mix helps boost the moisturizing products I use when they have dried out overnight. Keep in mind, I don't get the same softness with regular water. Also, I see less breakage - which I like because I use an injectable medicine that causes hair loss.Starting tomorrow, I am going to be upping my oral dose of the flakes to a full teaspoon to see if I get more results in energy and stamina. Of course, my chronic disease is a source of fatigue so other people might really get the energy boost they are looking for with a lower dose.I will surely be back with an update after I have used this for a while. The reasons I am starting it off with a highly starred review are: There are no additives; while the taste IS bitter, it is really palatable in even a mild juice; I felt the energy, literally, after my first dose. I was on the phone with my brother when I took the dose & just a few minutes later, was explaining the way I felt.Of course, things could change towards less than positive, but when I say I felt a tingle of energy immediately after my first dose, I am not kidding. I did expect the bitter taste (after all, they tell you about that right up front) and I was prepared to just deal with it for the potential benefits. What surprised me was that, when I mixed the crystals into some Bio Salud (if you don't know, those jars are only 2.1oz), I couldn't taste the MSM at all.One thing: these are more like crystals to me than "flakes". They look like coarse salt - or even like the stuff that comes out of the silica gel packs.As far as dosage, I wanted to start out small so that I could let my body get adjusted with the least amount of side effects. I will only purchase this MSM because it is the pure coarse flakes. If you want real MSM buying the smooth crushed powdered one is not the best idea. The real MSM benefits will be had from the coarse flakes which is why I keep buying this brand from this seller. I have been taking MSM powder for over six months and found that the pain in my arthritic hip was much improved, in fact it disappeared altogether. But when I went away for a few days a couple of times, the pain came back as I didn't take the powder with me.
