Worked really well to get my hair a beautiful deep fiery orange. Used to using Lush's henna blocks, getting it in powder form is easier to use.. however, Lush's henna does leave your hair smelling much better. This henna has my hair smelling like a dirty drain every time I get my hair wet. Maybe that's just a normal scent for "pure" henna? Either way, as long as you use some sort of perfume via a hair product, or bodily perfume/cologne, you wont notice the smell. Also, here is a henna preparation and application guide.-Measure out your Henna into a *GLASS* container (it will stain other containers, and metal isn't good w/ henna). I have short hair, and weighed out 50grams of henna. It was more than enough. I'd guess about 100grams for shoulder length hair, 150grams for chest length hair, etc.-Next, you want to SLOWLY add some really warm/hot (120°f MAX) water, which is about the temp water comes out of your sink at full heat, use a thermometer to double check, though.-Stir the mixture as you go to eliminate most clumps and check the consistency.-Once you have added enough water and stirred to make a thick, creamy paste (think yogurt or toothpaste consistency), you want to cover the mix with plastic wrap; you can keep it held on securely with a rubber band.-Let the mixture sit for at least an hour before using.-After an hour or so, you will notice the mixture has become very reddish brown. That's the released dye, you are ready to apply!-Use gloves, wear a towel/cape, apply Vaseline around hairline to prevent skin stains, have paper towels/etc on hand to wipe up spills before they stain, and stand somewhere you can either clean up easily (shower/tub/etc), or apply outside.-Once your hair is fully soaked with the henna mix, you'll want to wipe as much as possible off any parts of your skin on your face you don't want to turn orange.-Then wrap your hair in plastic wrap as well as you can, making sure to cover all parts to lock in moisture and heat (these two things are essential for a good dying process!).-I would also toss on a plastic shopping bag on top of all the plastic wrap to make sure everything stays contained.-Keep henna on your hair for 2 hours+, I usually place a big black towel down over my pillow/ sleeping area, and just go to sleep looking like a mummy. I find that keeping it on my hair for ~8hrs gives me best results.-Once you're done letting it sit in your hair, go shower/ wash it off! DO NOT SHAMPOO. USE CONDITIONER TO HELP LOOSEN IT FROM YOUR HAIR. Be gentle, so you don't fling henna bits all over your shower, less to clean later!-Enjoy your new hair! Read more
The seller claims to be USDA organic however once I checked and even spoke with them, they were unable to provide a usda organic certification. Be sure to check the USDA organic database and don’t trust this deceiving product. I have heard of henna plants being sprayed with pesticides. Read more

I used this to moisturize my scalp. My hair is already red, so I didn't think it would do much to the color. It made my hair more red. Read more
I liked this product because it is was said to be organic...can't tell the difference than other Henna I have used. also I use my emersion blender to mix it with the coffee and hot water and find that it gets absorbed better by my hair. Read more

I've bought Henna on Amazon before but it seems like even previously reliable vendors have changed their standard. I cannot find any henna seller at all that does not have some alarming reviews dispersed throughout a cluster of non-native english glowing reviews. This one mentions indigo on the back in one sentence but does not actually list indigo in the ingredients online or on the actual package. The mention of indigo seemed to be more in relation to the company as a whole, like a general notice they make about their products: 'so maybe they sell indigo separately?' I thought. My henna stained super dark. I kept the paste on overnight and then some. when I peeled the paste off, a deep vibrant orange remained, and over the next 48 hours developed into a super super deep brown. I was impressed. Honestly it was almost black but still clearly based in warm tones, not indigo cool tones.I was very satisfied.... initially. Then the stain, not the paste, I REPEAT the stain itself, started to flake off my hand instead of a more natural fade. Any parts that did fade though, started leaving a blue hue on my hands . Again strange because indigo is only mentioned in one obscure hard to find sentence. Never listed as an ingredient in this specific product. Then my hands started itching. I'm not sure exactly what is in this product. I don't think it was indigo despite the later blue hue because there are other characteristics of a henna paste with indigo in it and nothing else besides the end reaction indicated any indigo presence. In fact I don't know what chemical or powder would start brown on the skin but give a blueish tint at the end when causing a reaction. The fact that I never will know scares me more. My fingers were irritated even after I managed to get any stain left off and remained red for a month before fully "healing" from the irritation. I no longer have any known side affect. Still, having no clue what I applied to my skin leaves lasting worry.I would not trust an amazon seller again. It sucks if you live in an area where henna is hard to come by but really look for another option, amazon is not reliable for this kind of product anymore Read more
