I used Just For Men successfully to dye my full beard for almost two years until they changed the formula. The problem literally started from one week to the next when I finished an old box and started a new one. The new formula causes severe itching, scabbing, and redness all around the applied area for several days. To me it is the equivalent of having poison ivy all over your face for a week. In addition, my ear lobes scab up for several days after applying the dye even if I am extremely careful not to allow the dye to touch them. The reports of allergic reactions to the new formula are all over the Internet (and Amazon), ranging from severe itching as in my case, to hospitalization with chemical burns. Please be very careful with this product. Until they come out with a formula that is safer to use on your face, I cannot give this product a good review. Read more

I use this beard dye to dye my eyebrows. The only issue I have had with using this dye is the fact that it continues to develop after you have washed it all off. Be aware that your eyebrows may turn out darker than you expected because of the developing. On a good note this dye has lasted me and my bleach blonde eyebrows a whole month! Which is impressive in my experience. As well as the amount of product you receive you can use one box month after month to maintain beautiful eyebrows. Most guys buying this level 25 of beard coloring mostly have brown hair. But I have dark blonde hair and for most of us with the blonde, dark blonde, auburn sort of coloring, you know that our beard isn't typically just one color. Our beard/mustache hairs are often more of an amalgam of red, blonde, copper maybe "clear" (this varies greatly but that is how my beard hairs look).And now of course, grey... NOOOOOOOO!!! I'm getting OLLLLLLLLLLD! :)So, the best way I've found to APPROXIMATE my natural color is to choose this slightly darker color but apply it for a shorter time and do it twice or sometimes even three times. (I'm a designer who knows color. Trust me) :)What happens is, when you apply it the first time, instead of leaving it on for 5 minutes, leave it on for 3 or 4. This will color some hairs a medium level, other hairs not as much, other hairs almost none at all. Then, wash all of that off, dry it with a towel and color it again. Once more for 3-4 minutes. This will darken some of those previously colored hairs a little bit more, the ones that didn't get much color at all, also a little bit more and so on. If you still aren't happy, do it one more time but that's probably overkill.This is essentially giving your beard hairs 3 or 4 different levels of brown that kind of "fake" the look of your copper hairs, reddish hairs and lighter hairs. The single most important tip though: ERR ON THE SIDE OF TOO LIGHT, NOT TOO DARK. If it's too dark, it just screams that you've colored your beard. Be happy that you can tone the grey way down but don't get rid of it entirely. It still shaves years off your appearance.Finally, you only need to do this one time, not 2 or 3 if you are diligent about coloring it every 4 or 5 days. Just trim your beard down a bit and apply it for 3 or 4 minutes one time after you do the multi-step process the first time. However, if you go more than a week, you kind of have to start over and do it 2 or 3 times again. That's what I've found works, anyhow. Good luck! Read more

Bought this stuff to take some grey out of my goatee. It colors fine, but my skin is burning for several days now. I've been pouring cold water on my face to get relief. I can't recommend because of that. Very uncomfortable. I hope it doesn't leave any permanent marks on my face. Tried it again with same result. I had to put burn cream on my face to stop the pain. This product was decent for many years. But something recently changed. Thought it was just a repackaging, but no. It is a much inferior product now. 1. Colors are not consistent with what the previous descriptions had been. 2. Horribly strong smell to it, whereas the previous product had hardly any smell at all. 3. Color does not last as long...not even a single day it seems.Some corporate hack decided to cut corners to save like 3 cents per unit. As a result, it’s a crappy product now. This worked great the first several (4 or 5) times I used it. Then I developed a very bad allergic reaction resulting in painful and disfiguring chemical burns to my face. Apparently, they use a chemical known as PPD, and ammonia, which are known to cause serious damage to skin. They should seriously consider going back to the drawing board and come up with a formula that doesn't disfigure their consumer. This is a seriously flawed and dangerous product! Read more

This product ended up irritating my skin and I had a major allergic reaction. My skin started to turn red under my beard and weep. It was very irritating and took almost week to go away. I kept it on just for 4 minutes (they say no longer than 5). I wouldn't get this product as the chemicals seem too harsh for the delicate skin around your lips and and nose. The word “Mustache” on this packaging is spelt differently to that on other pages on this site and in stores on the high street such as Boots where the spelling is “Moustache” which is leaving me thinking if this product could be a faked copy of the original or is it coming from a country where the spelling is different to the U.K. spelling of Moustache? I ordered a specific product based on the box it came in. There are two different products for beard and moustache, one is a gel and one is a biotin, aloe and coconut oil dye. The gel is the one that is shown here on amazon but the one that arrives in the post is a different box, different picture and a different product so I'm disappointed. I could have just bought this particular product in my local shop..not ordered it on amazon. At first the product performed well & I was happy with the results. However, after a couple of applications The skin under my beard began to itch. This lasted a few days but did pass so I decided to continue to use the product. A week of itching seemed worth it because I was happy with the colour results. It was probably the 4th or 5th application where things went bad. As before I developed the itchy skin but this developed further to blister like sores which would weep & then crust over.
