I really like this razor! The weight is awesome and it is much more friendly to my skin. The big drawback for me and the reason for 3 stars.... the packaging is not recyclable. For the same reason you can’t recycle the plastic razors, the box is blended with magnets and is not recyclable. Zero waste should include their packaging. Read more

My safety razor is defective. When the head is totally screwed on, the razor is not properly angled to cut. To actually be able to shave, the head needs to be a little loose. It becomes looser with each stroke and swings around. You can get a nice, close shave; but the investment of time and energy to keep screwing the top on is not worth it and the chunks you take out because of the swinging, loose head is a mess. I’m going to try to a different safety razor. If I have a similar experience, I’m abandoning this lower waste effort and going back to disposable razors. Read more

Easy to assemble and the travel bag is a nice touch.This is the first time I've used a safety razor since I found my mum's in the bathroom cabinet in the late eighties. It was a bit daunting tbh, but it's really easy to use with a little care, and doesn't require any more pressure than the weight of the razor itself provides. Nice smooth shave on my legs (with a couple of small nicks - par for the course with me, even using a disposable). I found this much, much better for *ahem* slightly longer hair than disposables, which tend to clog up and stop working every couple of seconds.A nice quality product, and one that even looks lovely in my bathroom. Totally recommend.The long version:I’m old enough to remember when the big companies started adding extra blades to their razors, telling you they’d shave closer with 2 blades, 3 blades, 4 blades! Turns out you only need one!Frustrated by the fact that multis-blade razors would clog up with hair more quickly than they go blunt, I’ve been thinking about a safety razor for a while now, but was nervous about the potential for cutting myself.I did some research (not just Amazon reviews) and decided this model had the balance of design, looks & price point.It arrived yesterday & the packaging & razor look fantastic. The razor itself is stylish and has a good solid weight in the hand. As for shaving with it? Couldn’t be easier, the blade glides smoothly & has been the best, closest shave I’ve ever given myself. The only thing better than this is a professional barber with a cutthroat razor.Totally recommend, just remember you need to buy blades to go with it as it doesn’t come supplied with any. Read more

I was incredibly excited when this arrived. The packaging is impressive and the weight of the razor feels great in hand. I was all ready to start raving about it. Alas, it became obvious very quickly that it wasn't fit for task it's 'too' safe. In order for the blade to actually do the job you have to unscrew the razor head to such a degree it's at risk of falling off. I'm sincerely hoping that this was just a one off as many other people have had excellent experiences. I've now returned the razor through Amazon and will begin the hunt anew for a different eco razor that won't fall apart when used. Read more

Love this razor! Have now been using it for 4 months and I am not disappointed with my purchase. It's easy to use and comfortable to hold. Bought the box of 100 Astra blades at the same time. The razor and blades combine to give a much nicer shaving experience than all the disposable types that I've used over recent years (and there was no plastic with any of the packaging). The razor came with a nice little travel bag, too. Ditch the disposables and the razors with replaceable cartridges. I would certainly have no worries in recommending this razor to anyone. I have purchased this to basically use up a pack of blades i have had sitting round for a year since my last one broke (different make).Nice touch this with the wood handle and has a nice weight to it you can tell they have put effort into the appearance and it feels like a nice little treat to yourself.Well balanced, brilliant presentation only improvement could have been a swivel top but the old style screw is fine all in all a good buy very happy.
