Can’t say i would ever buy this marine collagen in it’s 5oz version listed for $15. not worth it at that price for only 12 days of servings in it ($1.25 per). I can say i would buy the bulk 3lb bag version for $70 though, with it you get at least 3 1/2 months of servings (.62 cents per) which is a good deal..I personally cannot really taste it in my coffee (a daily serving split into two mugs) like i can with my current marine collagen from neorafit, nor does it change the texture of my black coffee either. For these reasons i was thinking of switching over to this brand IF after using this 5oz bag, there is no backward progress from my current state…..BUT, after noticing today that this particular Judee’s product isn’t made/produced in the USA like their other products i use (the egg yolk powder is awesome for PSMF baking), i’m not so sure i currently feel comfy with consuming this repackaged collagen that contains marine collagen mass produced in China where facility regulations/etc aren’t strict like here & some other countries... nothing against China products, i use many of them but, not every single day, for that i prefer ‘consuming’ USA made products.. still 4 stars for no nasty taste nor smell and although it floats on top of my coffee instead of dissolves into it, it eventually dissolves after stirring it in hot liquid quickly. have NOT tried this in cold liquids.. I always try supplements with water first to see what they taste like, despite knowing they’re probably going to be gross.This didn’t mix well with room temp water. I had to microwave it and stir for a bit til it dissolved. As expected, it tasted a bit fishy. Not fishy as in the fish section at the grocery store, but the type of fishy we associate with fish oils. It wasn’t too overpowering even with just water, and I was able to get it down find but would strongly discourage this mode of consumption.Directions state to mix with coffee so that’s what I did. I hate to sacrifice my favorite beverage because it does alter the taste slightly. I have yet to find a collagen powder that doesn’t alter the taste. Even bovine sources have that fish oil odor to them. I find with drinks though, if you cant smell the supplement in the cup you usually cant taste it much either. So if the smell/taste really offends you I would put the coffee in a tumbler to shield your nose from it and help with the flavor.This is a fine collagen supplement, but it must be added to a hot beverage to be consumed.A 5oz or 142g bag is $15. At 12g per serving you are actually getting just under 12 whole servings. That’s pricey at $1.25 per serving. The 3lb bag on the other hand is just over 113 total servings for $62 making it $0.55 per serving. If you’re going to buy this product, get the bulk size because that’s worth it. Read more

I am a big fan of collagen. Since taking it, my nails are so strong that manicurists always think I have tips. When they find out they are my nails, they comment on how strong they are.I've used several types. I started with Ancient Nutrition, which I liked quite well. It was also affordable. Most recently, I've been using Agent Nateur and Dr. Will Cole's collaboration. It has marine collagen and holi (mane). I love it, but it is $95 for about a month's worth (18 oz.).When Amazon offered me this to review for the buying program, I thought it might be a suitable alternative. At $65, it's still expensive, but notably less than what I have been paying. What I failed to notice was that it is ONLY 5 OZ!! So, it's nearly three times the price of the product that I already thought was a little more costly than it should be. You can see in my photo just how small the bag is.The ingredients are lovely, and it has almost no taste. It is a really good product, but in my opinion, it is insanely expensive. This is a decent quality hydrolyzed marine collagen made with Tilapia fish.It's unflavored and doesn't taste nor smell.It meditatively dissolves in hot coffee but doesn't in cold drinks.Of course that's not an issue if your using a frother or adding this to a smoothie.(even good in soups - hot cereals - puddings - yogurt - etc.But for the high cost of this collagen I expected it to be a level higher quality.From research I've come across a rule of thumb for collagen.>>> All collagen is hydrolyzed but there are different levels of hydrolyzation.In the process - protein, more specifically its amino acids have been broken downinto smaller units making collagen more easily digestible.(amino acids are inherent in collagen)>>> Since humans can't absorb hides / bones (which is where collagen comes from)the hydrolyzed process is very important.>>> But there are notable characteristic of FULLY hydrolyzed collagen.FULLY is soluble in both cold and hot liquids - unflavored - odorless -and easy to mix into smoothies - fresh fruit juice - water.The package contains 12 = 12oz servings which equals 5 ounces.No scoop = so use a tablespoon or scoop saved from another product.
