It was either '98 or '99, but I love this scent. I first bought it for my cousin, and I always asked him what was he wearing, because he always smelled amazing and he would always tell me, "the stuff you got me", and I couldn't believe that I couldn't pick up the smell everytime, it's like it was always slightly changing it's scent output depending on the time of day or something, or the chemical makeup, or the perspiration output, SOMEthing, I don't know. It was always an amazing smell, no matter what, though. I started buying it for my husband years ago, because I remembered it being the cologne that had the biggest impression on me and he LOVES IT!! I love it on him, too!!! He is always asking me to order him some more when he runs low and I usually get it at walmart.com since walmart stopped carrying it in-stores. Perhaps this is a really old bottle. Perhaps the formula has changed. But this; this is not great smelling at all. Perhaps it just reacts poorly with my skin. I do not know. I don't have several people around me that I can spray this on.Initial spray had a positive reaction to my senses. Very fresh scent. 5 min later my skin smelled of a musty odor. That scent is what lingers well after the opening. NOPE. I will not be wearing this.I know what musk smells like. This is not that. I do realize this not an actual musk. Put it this way, I have several high dollar colognes/perfumes and an $8 BOD Man Fresh Blue Musk Body Spray smells amazing and lasts all day long, and well into the next day on your clothes. I am not trying to compare a musk to another musk, but rather, why get this when you can get that AND it smells WAY better. I get compliments on that everyday I wear it.This would NOT get compliments. I smell like I left my clean wet clothes in the washer and forgot take them out to dry them, they got musty smelling from sitting and later then I thru them in the dryer. It smells really good but it's 1oz, is a weakish scent and doesn't last very long. I use 2x as much as I would with any higher concentration eau de toilette and the scent is totally gone in about 1-2 hours.I tried to double it up a few hours ago just to see if it's worth bringing with me on a trip and I can't smell anything anymore unless i directly sniff my wrist and there's a hint of the smell. Honestly, this has been my go to since I was in junior high. I am now 37 years old and still get compliments from ladies wanting it for their husbands.Sadly this is a product that you almost have to buy online anymore. I don’t know why this wasn’t the most popular Jovan product for men. It doesn’t smell like a strong musk but it’s stronger than expected for a Subtle scent. Great smell. But it is not as strong as I expected when I read the description and the reviews. So it doesn't last really long. Sure you can smell it in your clothes one, two or maybe three days later but only when stick your nose in 'em. I give it 4 stars for the great smell. Read more
