I've lost almost half my hair over the last 3 years since I've started using this and, just today, I found out that one of their ingredients (DMDM hydantoin, aka formaldehyde) has been linked with hair loss to the point of class action lawsuits, which is why most hair companies have removed it. Applied this moisturizer for the 1st time and left in for the suggested time, rinsed off and my hair is now straw. This product was recommended to me by my stylist, however my guess is that she didn’t know about the sale of the company and reformulation of the product. Looked at the ingredients and the 2nd item after water is alcohol. Unfortunately putting alcohol on your hair pretty much fries it! I am so sad. I have used this product for countless years for my fine-textured, long hair. It has been fantastic and I was a loyal customer. When I received my latest order with the new packaging I didn't think twice. However, the contents inside are now completely different. This conditioner has a different viscosity (not as thick), and my hair feels dry and full of static every time I use it. Thanks Joico (obviously being sarcastic and disappointed). This can’t be real Joico product. It wrecked my hair. Joico moisture shampoo and conditioner makes my hair so soft and silky and this stuff made my hair a giant knot. I had to use detangler, biosilk, gel and wrench a comb and a brush through my hair. I’m done buying counterfeit hair products from Amazon. I went to a beauty supply and spent $91 on real Joico shampoo, conditioner, biosilk and K-Pak. All of which I purchached from Amazon and were fake. Read more

The formula was changed along wit the packaging- it now leaves a waxy buildup in my hair and my daughter’s hair. Gave us helmet head - can barely brush through it with all of the wax. I tried hydrosplash conditioner by joico once I got all of the crap out of my hair. Much better. Read more

This stuff is amazing for when you want to wear your hair naturally curtly. My hair has never been soooo moisturized and so...... just lovely when I use this stuff. When you comb the conditioner through your hair feels like butter!!! OMG I love it so much. I use it for when I don't do a blowout and let my hair dry wavy/curly. It's so moisturizing and a really good product for people who have I guess you would say 3A-3C hair, that must be moisturized via quality conditioners and not pomade or oils. Read more

Let me just say that this product is simply divine. I am a African American with a lovely mix of various textures and curls in my hair. I have been natural for about 12 years and in those years I must have tried every hair product on the market, and this is not an exaggeration. Though I cannot say that I am a trained professional in natural hair care, I believe myself to be an expert, at least with my own hair. This product worked amazingly. It took me, on average, 3-5 hours to comb and detangle my hair properly before using this product. After letting this product sit in my hair for about 10 hours (after I got home from work until I woke up) I was able to comb through my hair with ease. I now use this product a few times a week and my curls have never been more hydrated, and I have been through and done may hydration treatments over the years. When I purchased this product it had said that it was a package of Shampoo and Conditioner.My sister is a hair dresser and was out of town so I could not purchase the products through her so I decided to try this out since it was equally to what I would pay her for Shampoo and Conditioner and that what the listing said as well. I had been using a different conditioner by Joico and found it was too light on my thick wavy hair now I have more highlights. This does the job brilliantly - my hair is soft and it keeps the frizz down a lot.I had to learn not to use too much though, I'd been putting tons of the other stuff on because it wasn't moisurising my hair, and when I switched and used the same amount I ended up totally overloading it.
