Works great for affordable price. I like the option to be able to replace the light bulb. The original one wasn't strong enough and last only a few weeks. There are two screws that let you access the inside of the mirror. You can use any E12 bulb. I tried 60 Watt regular candelabra bulb but it was too hot. Then I searched and bought corn style LED bulb - E12 base, 3000K and 100 Watt equivalent (12W). The result is more light and less heat. Love it Read more

I bought this light for shaving. After years of leaning over and rarely seeing well enough to do a good job, I broke down and bought this mirror. I have it hardwired into120Vand positioned properly at face level. It was immediately and disturbingly obvious the supplied incandescent bulb is profoundly inadequate to the point of being useless. I replaced the brand light bulb with a corn-cob LED with greatly improved, but still not perfect results. There is only 1 bulb socket in the mirror, so a single LED bulb lights up half the ring around the mirror; better but still needs improvement. I will try to find another candelabra base socket and shoe horn it into the mirror housing. For the price of this poorly engineered thing, it is a poor value. Out of the box, the light is inadequate. With the wide availability and very low cost of LED bulbs, Jerdon's decision to supply only a single incandescent bulb smacks of greed and contempt. I am generously giving 2 stars only because there is so little competition making Jerdon about the only show in town. Read more

I'm pretty blind without my glasses, so I need a makeup mirror I can shove right in my face when I tweeze or do my makeup. This one is the first lighted mirror I've had. It's nice, but the switch to turn it on and off isn't the most convenient. I wish it was a push-button, rather than a twist. If my fingers are wet from washing my face, forget it.It's also HEAVY. They give you mollybolts to install it, and you'll need them. This thing is a monster.I also wish the magnifying side was 10x like my last mirror. 8x is probably healthier for my self-esteem, but I wish I could still see all those tiny chin hairs I used to be able to with my 10x magnification mirror.Aside from these small issues, I really like it. The swinging arm is good for adjusting the mirror, as well as hanging my washcloth on it. And, it's really pretty and chic. Read more

This is a great mirror. Good magnification but like other reviews. Highly recommend you upgrade the bulb with an LED for a brighter output. Once that's done it really is a great mirror. Installation was pretty much straight forward. We kept the attached power cord although you can hard wire. Do prepare yourself with your own hardware because the hardware included was junk. Lucky I keep a jar of old hardware so was able to securely install. Overall great product once you get past those things. I do like the ability to replace the bulb which was number one reason I purchased. Read more

I installed this mirror about two years ago and it stills works and looks good. The only issue was that the light was too dim. I replaced the incandescent bulb with a led bulb with higher lumens and this solved the problem and the unit does not even get warm with the new light bulb. Read more

This mirror was a lot bulkier than I expected. The bulb they provide is useless, does not give enough light, I'm looking to replace it with an LED that will hopefully provide better light. The 8X magnification does not work as well as my 10X magnification mirror but since I had a hard time finding a lighted magnification mirror in gold, this one will have to suffice. Read more

I replaced the light bulb with a brighter LED bulb, as well as adding more reflective tape internally to help even out the light emitted from the ring around the mirror. For the price this is great, and looks good. Would purchase gain, as well as recommend. Read more
