First of all, I want you to know that Jarrow has always been one of my favorite brands. I have always found their products to be of high quality. So, it's very hard for me to give it a 1 star. I am doing this to get your attention., because I am writing this review to warn people that taking glutathione without routine blood testing under a doctor's supervision, is dangerous to your health. I started taking this supplement about a year ago, right after I had my annual blood test for hypothyroidism, which was under control by taking Armour thyroid on a daily basis. I added it for skin brightening, and yes, it did work really well for that purpose. I would give it 5 stars for that. Also, this was the only change i made to my daily supplement routine. I do not take anything out of the ordinary... ALA, COQ10, a multivitamin... Stuff like that. Ten months later I ended up in the ER with chest pains, accelerated heart rate, shortness of breath and I felt like I was going to shake right out of my body. When the doctor did a full blood panel, he informed me that my TSH level was barely detectable at 0.30, and both my T4 and T3 were also dangerously low. Basically he was telling me my adrenal glands weren't functioning and I was now presenting signs of hyperthyroidism. All of this was very scary, since I've had hypothyroidism for over 5 years now. I informed him of the supplements I was on and he immediately pointed to the glutathione. He said to slowly take myself off of it and to eventually stop taking it altogether. It is not something that should be taken long term. Three months later I just had another blood test and my TSH has come up and my T3 and T4 levels are both within normal range. I used to take jarrow glutathione and it really worked to reduce my stress, lighten my skin and control breakouts. So, I'm so happy to find out I can buy this at a cheaper price. I subscribed for monthly deliveries for 9 months now. At first it gave me the effects that I wanted, but the last few months, I didn't see any effect at all. Its my second time purchasing it. I love this glutathione it absorbes better if you take it with a vitamin C at the same time or a bit before. Its been helping me clean and clear my skin. I did not look closely enough at this. The headline says 270 count, but the image says 60 count. This is a lie, and rips off people like me who do not forensically check every detail! I ordered it and got 60 count, which made it very expensive as I paid the former £33 price for it. Amazon should be checking this and putting it right.
