I had clogged pores with small pimples at the end of the day. I tried to be sure before ordering that it had no oil in it and it didn't seem to but clearly it is not non-comedogenic ..........after applying it and using the spray to set it, my face felt gummy all day which I thought surprising since it is a powder. I had hoped for an SPF powder to replace a cream. I had it on for about 6 hours and after washing my face in the evening I had small whiteheads which are the very thing I am trying to avoid. I sent it back which is the very reason I ALWAYS order using Prime, Nordstroms's or Bloomingdale's all of whom stand behind the customer and will give you your money back. Read more

Not sure if this stuff was even genuine. I ordered Jane Iredale Warm Sienna powder and received a Bare Minerals container with a Jane Iredale label on the bottom. Read more

My dermatologist recommended this brand of face powder for me and did skin matching for color in the office. It was much more reasonably priced on Amazon so I ordered it and gave it a shot. Let me just say that this is pricier than any other face powder I've bought in my life. However, I always do two things: Apply it with a soft sponge and then smooth it out with a face brush. This way I can avoid touching my face and getting oil/dirt on it. And I have found that the powder really sets and stays. Plus it evens my skin tone (I have some red spots) and it doesn't "stick" like cheaper powders do. So, my verdict: Worth the price for a very high-quality face powder that makes you feel confident when you wear it. Read more

I do. I developed rosacea in my early thirties (gift of pregnancy - thanks son) and, suddenly, my skin decided to fight with the products I had been happily using for years. Skin, I love you, but there is no reason to be so dramatic about everything. When I find a product that can co-exist peacefully with said diva skin, I hang onto it for dear life. This powder has joined a very exclusive group of about five things I can put on my face without paying for it later.I put it on top of tinted moisturizer, and it looks great. It doesn't seem to fill in fine lines or look clumpy, and, at 55, I definitely have those. I like that it has a decent SPF, because, of course, Mariah Epidermis burns if I even look at a picture of the sun. (Okay, a little bit of hyperbole.) (But not much). It doesn't have the staying power I would wish, but that is most likely due the fact that I put it on moisturizer instead of foundation. I have this product on my subscribe and save plan, and I (plus skin) will probably sob if jane iredale changes its formula or retires it. Read more

I’ve used mineral makeup for years now. I needed to find a new one because the brand I was using was no longer available. I searched Amazon to find what was available in clean mineral powder makeup. I wasn’t familiar with the Jane Iredale line at the time. I went to the Jane Iredale website to check it out further and see what color options were available. I’m medium cool with pink undertones so I chose the honey bronze. When it arrived, I was disappointed to see how orangey it was. I thought it was never going to work for me because it was so much different than what I’ve used in the past. Then I tried it. I picked up the tip on the JI website to use a hydration spray after you apply it. I had never done that before in all the years I’ve used mineral powder. Game changer! I was shocked at how natural the powder looked on me. Loved how silky it felt! But the best thing was how oil-controlling it is! I’m usually an oil slick a couple of hours after washing my face. At work, I’ll use a tissue or paper towel several times a day to blot the oil off of my very shiny face. It’s no longer necessary. I may blot my face once now toward the end of the day and it’s still not too oily. I wish I would have discovered this stuff sooner! Highly recommend! Read more

Many "mineral" foundations actually have organic powders in them such as rice or corn cob powder. On some people they look great. On my rosacea, the organic ingredients feed the micro bugs in the pores that cause irritation and make it worse. Jane Iredale's mineral foundation is just that, minerals, no organics, so no irritation. It doesn't have a noticeable shimmer. Usually I apply it with a clean cotton ball, then finish with the flat end foundation brush to remove excess. The color in the container may look dark, while on, it's just right. As the skin gets oily through the day, I blot, and rarely reapply. Read more

This is very nice but Clinique Almost Powder Makeup in Fair is better for me in both color and smoothness (lack of dryness). Especially need a light color with a little pink in it for my fair skin with rosy undertones. This had a little less color than I needed but it may work for some people. You would probably need a moisturizer under it in the Winter. (maybe Clinique Moisture Surge) I also like to spray a little Eve Hansen Rose Water under the Clinique Almost Powder, year round. Let it dry them apply the foundation with a fluffy Kabuki Brush. Powder Foundation will change your life, once you get used to it and figure out how to use it. It's easy, natural looking and quick Read more

This is the only time I've ever been frustrated with anything I've ordered from Amazon. I've been purchasing this exact foundation from jane ire dale for 4 years consistently. I opened up the package, opened the box the foundation it came in, popped off the lid and went to use the makeup (by tapping the powder into the lid) and thIe entire inner sifter lid just came off, as it was about 2 sizes too small. This made ALL of the foundation powder go everywhere. It's definitely defective, I've never had that happen with any of my jane products and if anything that inner lid is always so tight you can't even get it off! Pretty disappointed. I wasted $40. This powder gives light coverage to my fair (freckled) skin. Does not sit in lines. Very convenient for a quick wash of healthy colour. I also like using it as a bronzer on top of a similarly tinted cream foundation, just on brow, cheeks and chin. Gives an extra glow without looking overdone. Read more

I use an spf under my make-up THEN apply and re-apply this product through out the day! It's great! I'm adding protection and not wiping off my make-up. I'm sure the best way to protect your skin is to keep applying full on sunscreen religiously (or stay out of the sun), but I'm not willing to go make-up less to do that and a girl has to go outside! So, if you are looking for a compromise this could be it! My cousin owned a fancy spa and hooked me up with this originally.I've been battling sunspots for several years and have almost gotten rid of all of them. Just a few stubborn ones left which will be a review for a different product if I EVER find the Holy Grail of sunspot fading products. Because of my dedication to sunscreen, shade /hat when possible and this Jane Iredale Powder, no new sunspots! Read more
