So I bought this when it had one review. I'm going to try to leave as detailed a review as I can. This booster is perfect for little toddlers. My son is 2 (and 2 days) and this puts him at a good height for the table. The table is just below chest level so its about the same height as the boosters given at a restaurant. It has two straps to strap it to the chair, and does a pretty good job of holding tight. My little toddler can climb in and out of his chair without help and the booster doesn't move. The grey insert comes out easily for cleaning, but that also means it slides around. The grey insert is not attached to the chair in any way. It only sits as a pad on the top of the white sections. The straps hold it in place so it doesnt fall off. That being said, when my toddler climbs in and out, the grey part does not slide around on him. And once he sits in it, the pressure from his weight keeps it from sliding around. The straps are not removable so they have to either be strapped in, or sit on the straps. Its very very easy to clean. The grey part wipes easily, and then when crumbs fall in the strap holes, you just lift the grey part and wipe. Read more
This booster is a decent height that helps my smaller two year old sit at a good height for our standard dinner table. I was very disappointed when it arrived and the upper grey foam piece (for added height) had no way to attach to the bottom half hard piece with all the straps. I almost returned it. My daughter is VERY wiggly and it was sliding all over the place and I was not comfortable with it at all. I liked the quality and height so my husband and I decided to add heavy duty Velcro to attach the two pieces. It is far more secure and functional now. Read more
UPDATE: So the foam topper is indeed useless. It won't stay attached to the base. I don't think it would stay if place even if I had left the harness straps attached. I'm not subtracting from my review because it says right on the box that it can be used with or without the topper. But I would make it a point to say for what I'm getting (a hunk of plastic with some straps) I'd like it to have cost $5-$10 less that the $26 I paid.So I have three kids 4 years and under. I bought this to replace Fisher-Price Healthy Care Booster Seat, Green/Blue that my 2 year old was using as a booster that I wanted to put my 8 month old in because I was absolutely sick of washing his Chicco Caddy Hook On Chair, Red every stinking time he ate in it. The 2 year old wasn't quite ready to graduate to his 4 years old sister's booster Prince Lionheart Soft Booster Seat, Charcoal Grey so I figured this was a perfect transition seat because it doesn't come with unnecessary highchair tray accessories but still fastens to the chair for the added safety his age requires. During my install I found that the straps are too long to fasten tightly to my dining chair, a major con. I had to finagle one strap to shorten it but the other is still a little slack. I'm taking off a star for that. Also as you can see in the pictures I'll attach I opted to remove the three point harness so the interior foam piece is just kind of floating on top of the seat with no way to really secure it. This may be a pain in the butt or it may make it easier to clean by removing it and rinsing it out after each use, which when you have three kids eating, easy to clean is the name of the game. NOW if you're unlike me and not churning out kids like hot cakes, or even if you are like me and have multiple kids in my opinion the Fisher-Price Healthy Care Booster Seat, Green/Blue could really do the job of all three of the other seats I mentioned. I could have three of those for the same cost if not less than I've paid for all these others (and if you just have one kid the fisher price seat it potentially the only seat they'd ever need) and the only down side is you'd have a lot of trays and covers laying around as your kids get older. So this booster does have my endorsement, for now, as a good transition booster from a highchair but I wouldn't recommend it over the fisher price. Read more
First thing I’ll addressbis all the reviews about the seat popping out. Because of these reviews, the first thing I did when this arrived was stick a command strip under the seat. The Velcro-y one’s for hanging pictures on walls, I put it right behind the center buckle, and I have yet to have the seat pop off, and at cleaning time I just tug.Second thing: Cleaning Time. I am 4 months into using this seat, the blue one. I’m mildly bummed about the staining on the sides of the blue cushion where my daughter always touches with food-covered hands. Especially tacos and other food with red in it. I think I’m gonna try an oxy clean soak tomorrow but dawn dish soap and good scrubbing isn’t getting it off.Otherwise, I love this seat, very happy with it. She’s secure, comfortable and it’s low profile. She started sitting in it at 14 months no problem. Read more
I was getting tired of constantly cleaning all of the nooks and crannies in my 17 month old sons 4moms high chair so we decided to try a booster seat. I chose this one based on the overall star rating, it looked like it would be much easier to keep clean, and also price point. I also considered the OXO seat but thought food would collect between the cushion and seat where the foam ends (this ingenuity one has the entire seating area covered in foam so I don’t think this will happen with this seat) and one made entirely of foam that many reviewers were stating it would start cracking on the sides and chunks of foam would crumble off.Setup was easy, you connect one strap around the back of the chair and one goes underneath. I’m subtracting one star here because despite my chair being a normal size for a kitchen, the back strap is too long so I can’t tighten it all of the way. It currently has about 2” of slack so the booster seat itself is not as tightly secured to the chair as it needs to be so I’ll have to come up with some type of modification. The seat is also very easy to unbuckle and remove to clean. It was easy getting my son in the seat, you just have a buckle in the middle of his legs with sides that go over his legs and snap in. The buckle snaps pretty securely so my son cannot open it on his own. My son seemed comfortable in the seat and really enjoyed his new high-chair-less freedom. Overall I would recommend.... Read more
Im returning for credit. We did not have a good experience with using this product. Our 3.5 yr old daughter injured herself getting out/ off the seat.In my opinion, its USP, the easy clean removable cushion lets it down masdively and is borderline unsafe. The insert is not fixed in position and is free to move around and come out, unless a child is strapped into it.Our daughter is, as i imagine most 3yr olds are, quite independant. Strapping her in and out of the booster chair contradicts what were trying to achieve - independance at the dinner table. As she tried to get out of the seat the insert came loose and both insert and our daughter fell forwards between the chair and the dining table, resulting in her cracking her chin on the table as she fell.A child using the seat with the insert unassisted is not safe. To be safe you will need to lift child in and out and strap them in. This defeats the object of our intention. Using the seat without the insert is possible, however, the seat is then too low. Found this to be the perfect booster seat for our 21 month old twins. We bought one first but they both loved it and it worked so well we bought another. Some reviews don't like the removable insert as they say it isn't stable which may be true if your using it for an older child without the harness(in this case I don't think you need use it at all anyway) but once our twins are buckled in their weight holds it down and they're so well held in they're not going anywhere. They used to get out of the harness on our old highchairs but so far not in this. It's so good to have got rid of the high chairs and be able to sit round the dining table together. Also so easy to take with us when visiting friends and family.Sometimes we take out the insert so our 4 year old can sit at the table between meals to play on a tablet, do some drawing etc.It looks good and as is so easy to clean.Highly recommended Read more
Love this toddler booster seat.our little one was too big for her high chair but too small for a normal chair so this works a treatOnly comment is the straps that wrap around the back and bottom of the chair are really long, even when tightest they are loose on our chair but is ok for us as our little one doesn't love too much but would be ideal if you could tighten more Read more
Love this booster. We was looking for a solution for our toddler, he wanted to eat at the big boy table but he couldn't reach unless he was kneeling on the chair so this was our solution and he loves it. Easy to use and clean, I will say though if your using it without the straps then I would probably remove the padding too as it easily slips off without the straps. Read more
Bought this as recplacement for our high chair for my 28 month old. She loved it straight away and was eager to use her new seat, very comfortable and easy to clean. Most importantly, boosts her to the exact height we needed at our table !My daughter is tall but dainty and the straps clip comfortably although the straps have been adjusted to their very limit of length, but they aren't tight on her just yet, she is old enough now to sit still while she eats so there will be no problems when the straps become too small.
