I appreciate that it is lightweight and a bit quieter than the average hair dryer. And the back is easy to pop off to clean the filter. I've used powerful hair dryers before and wanted another one to make short work of drying my thick hair. However, it blows SO hard (even on low) that it just makes my hair fly everywhere and get tangled - and I only have shoulder-length hair, I can't imagine how tangled it would make it if it were longer. I found it really hard to round brush my hair because the force of the air blew it off the brush, so now my hair doesn't have that smooth, blown-dry look, it's kind of frizzy. And again, this was on low, high was impossible to use. (When I tried it on high and accidentally blew some air in my ear it made it hurt, not from the noise but from the air pressure.) Also doesn't get hot enough. Warm felt like cool and hot felt like barely warm. So even though it was blowing like a hurricane on my head, my hair took just as long to dry as it would with an average (less than 2000 watt) hair dryer because the air wasn't hot enough. I guess that is reassuring that it's not going to damage my hair by overheating it, but I'd rather risk the damage to cut a few minutes off drying my hair and having it look the way I want it to. Might work for someone with really short hair that just needs to blow and go and not style it with a brush. I think I'll be returning it as the lack of heat makes me think it must be faulty. I have seen a lot of people reviewing this dryer and saying that it doesn't get hot. It does get hot but the thing to know is that the "cold shot" button is not a "press and hold" for cool air button. If you press the cold shot button and let go it stays cold until you press and release it again. I also thought that there was no heat with this dryer, but it seemed unusually cold so I played with the cold shot button a bit and figured out how it operates. The dryer actually gets fairly hot on the hot setting, but not excessively. It is as hot as I would expect a typical dryer to get. The dryer is not excessively loud, it is quieter than my old dryer which was a regular motor dryer. It is a powerful little dryer. It is smaller than my old dryer and I like the compact size. It is also lighter. I will update again after I use it more. Read more
Love the amazing power. Heat options are perfect! Drys hair super fast with less frizz than older conair model i had. *One thing to note regarding the "cool shot" button.... you press to engage then press again to disengage. An awesome feature, however i think some of the reviewers that complained that the dryer didn't get hot enough may have the cool shot button "engaged" without knowing. Previous dryers you had to physically hold the cool shot button with your thumb. Mine came with the cool shot engaged out of the box, and i was worried, but the heat came right on as soon as i re-pressed the cool-shot button. As far as loudness. I don't think it's much quieter, however the noise isn't as "whiney" as other dryers. Not as annoying as some can be.I loved this dryer so much I bought one for my daughter and she loves hers too! Who leaves a product review for a hair dryer? A fellow product designer who's appalled at the lack of though and/or lost experience that went into this dryer. As a manufacturer your greatest asset is the built up knowledge your product designers have accumulated over the years. Simple things like where to put the buttons, how hot to make the air, all seem to have been forgotten on this unit. Its almost like this was some freshman's first attempt at making a hair dryer after seeing a picture of one in a magazine. The button placement is non ambidexteous, only accessible from one side, tightly spaced, and lacks definition between modes. The air that comes out on Hot is not hot at all, in fact, its 1/2 that of the Conair InfinitiPro (100 degrees vs 205, and yes, I took the time to measure it:) ).The unit is quiet, measuring a full 8 db less than the InfinitiPro.Overall egronomics are on par with the InfinitoPro however it has an unusual shape that is VERY slick and lacks the rubber feet other models have so if you place it down on a table it will quickly slide off.In theory this unit should outlive all the other models due to its brushless motor. Almost every hair dryer uses a brushed motor and that's the only part that wears out overtime or due to rough handling. The heating elements, mostly due to regulations, are bullet proof and will last forever assuming no foreign debris gets caught on the heating elements.Dear Conair. Nice try. Next time hire a real product engineer. Read more
I'm a tool junkie kinda guy, so the brushless motor, heavy duty cord and rocker switches appealed to me the most. I think running it on cool for a few seconds before putting it away helps with the longevity so the locking cool switch is a great feature. My hair is really short and the medium speed and the medium heat levels work perfectly for me. It gets plenty hot on high and blows really hard on high. On high, It's just as loud my old Conair hair dryer that this replaces. On Low it is quite a bit quieter. I got mine for $36 as part of a Amazon warehouse deal in "Used/Like New Condition" and it was in perfect condition. I would never pay the $117 retail price for a hair dryer. Made in China. Read more
Unfortunately, the "3Q" is NOT true. How is a product that has "patent pending" motor design for quietness the LOUDEST hairdryer I have ever used?!?! It is SO LOUD that I cannot use it on my dog, let alone myself. It actually hurts my ears on the highest setting. $58.06 is VERY expensive for a machine that does not match the marketing on the package. I would not recommend this at all if your are sensitive to noise! I'm super unhappy with this false claim! Read more
Just arrived today, I don't mind the bright fuchsia color, the hair dryer works great.Brushless motor will mean the motor will last much longer and quieter too. Some have mentioned they were not getting any heat and returned the hairdryer... Not sure if they realized if you press the blue button, cool air is blown out on all settings. Just press the blue button once more to generate heat.I don't use the hair defuser, the dryer is light and powerful, great buy on sale! Read more
Leí opiniones antes de comprarla y había 5 estrellas: muy buena, muy potente. Y 2 estrellas: no calienta tanto. Y es precisamente lo que yo buscaba: muy potente y que no caliente tanto, pues tengo cabello rizado 3b y necesito eso...potencia y no tanto calor. Siempre la uso con difusor y me seca el cabello muy rápido y sin frizz. Me gustó mucho. Lo único es que sí está algo cara, cuando cualquier otra conair cuesta al rededor de 400, ésta pasa de 1000. I was looking for a good dryer that was powerful, not too noisy, makes your hair soft and shiny, had variable heats and speeds, a cool shot button, long cord and GFI. I’m impressed. The cool shot button locks the cool shot too. Overall very pleased with this purchase. Read more
