The Infant Optics DXR-8 PRO video baby monitor is our most advanced monitor yet. As a parent, you want digital security without internet connectivity for an added layer of protection against hackers that may be able to access your camera over the internet. Operating on 2.4GHz FHSS frequency in a closed-loop system, only YOU can see and hear your baby. The DXR-8 PRO features cutting edge features such as Active Noise Reduction (ANR), a high definition display, and interchangeable lenses. ANR is an option that can be toggled on or off to filter any background noise such as fans, air conditioners, humidifiers, and air purifiers, that are commonly heard on baby monitors as 'static noise'. When it comes to video clarity, The monitor features a 5" ultra-clear LCD display at 720P resolution with enhanced night vision. The three-step digital zoom can be operated with the optical zoom lens (included) so that you can zoom in to see your baby sleeping in 6x zoom without causing the pixelation and blurring seen on other monitors. All functions are controlled on our next-generation user interface. Dedicated volume and brightness controls on the top of the monitor unit. Brightness of the LED lights (power and LED sound bar) can be dimmed so it won't shine your room bright at night. Comes with manufacturer's 1 year warranty, extendable to 2 years for free upon registration. Note: predecessor model DXR-8 camera units are NOT compatible with the DXR-8 PRO.

The camera is good so far. Resolution is good, haven't had any range issues. The Active Noise Rejection cuts down the white noise machine significantly but not completely (which is fine, they never claimed it would work 100% with noise machines). One problem I've noticed is the audio level indicator takes quite a bit of noise before it registers at all, which is a bummer since we'd hoped to use it in audio-only mode with the volume down just using the meter. My guess is this is related to the ANR and would be more sensitive if it weren't trying to cut out a noise machine, but I haven't tested it. Not sure on the battery life yet, we mostly keep it plugged in.So overall, great monitor so far. Unfortunately, after you register the warranty they coax you HARD with a free second camera (normally $100) into joining some loyalty club, which involves writing a review wherever you bought it. It's not 100% clear if you'd get the camera if you don't give them five stars, but they make it super clear they REALLY want you to give them five stars. I think this is a good enough product that the reviews would speak for themselves without this sketchy solicitation. They seem to already have a good reputation so I don't know who thought this was a good idea, but it was disappointing and guts my trust in the company from the get-go. Read more

I had the infant optics DXR-8 and because I loved it soo much I wanted to try the DXR-8 pro when I had my second baby. I read nothing but good reviews so I went ahead and purchased it. I don’t think it is worth it to upgrade and is a waste of money... keep the old one or if you are looking for a monitor buy the old version. I will give you a pro and cons as to why:Infant optics 8 pro -pros:-very clear image (much better than the older one)-bigger screen-convenient volume and screen brightness buttons on top. However I did not have a problem with the old one if you know the shortcut button.Cons:-audio sucks (has a few second delay -so if your baby’s room is close enough to your room you will hear two cries -one from your baby and one that’s delayed from the monitor! This was the most annoying thing ever! The old version has real time audio so I think this is a HUGE downgrade! The screen might be nice but audio is the most important to me as I’m not going to be staring at my screen all night long, I will be hearing it.-when in scan mode (for multiple cameras) when the cameras switch every 7 secs or so the audio will play for a few seconds then turn off -like it’s rebooting- then play again. So there is a few seconds of complete silence. Which not only is annoying to listen to at night but those few seconds could be something important that you needed to hear for your babies safety!-temperature is off by 10 degrees-the noise cancellation feature is nice but doesn’t work when in scan mode- so if you plan on having more than one camera running this feature is absolutely pointless. Also the old one doesn’t have this feature and yet it is as quiet as the new one with the noise cancellation on. So if you don’t wanna hear an annoying buzzing all night long and you plan on having more than one camera get the old one!-not compatible with the old cameras even though they look exactly the same! So you have to spend more money if you want extra cameras. All that being said, I tried to give the company the benefit of the doubt that maybe I got a faulty unit and did contact them for a replacement but the replacement did the same thing. The customer service was excellent however and I do recommend this company just not the infant optics DXR-8 pro. Buy the old version (DXR-8)!!!! Read more

The media could not be loaded.  Dreams do come true! Infant Optics you’ve won me back! I’ve used the original DXR-8 for the last 5 years for my girls but wanted to find something with updates for baby #3. I’ve been on the hunt for 2 months for another non-WiFi monitor and tried Eufy and VAVA both of which had better picture than the old Infant Optics, but I missed so many features of the original DXR-8...until I came across the PRO! Literally jumping for joy!! The new picture is so CLEAR! Love the 5” screen! And it has features I was missing on the Eufy and VAVA.-Great night Vision!-Volume buttons on top of monitor (now there’s even a brightness adjustment button too!)-Volume indicator lights on the side, my favorite thing for when screen is in sleep mode, but now you can even adjust the brightness of these lights or turn them off-Low battery Alert function has different sound and volume options (I like that it will continue to alert you until you plug it in. The Eufy and VAVA would only alert you once before it died)-pretty much all the same great features of the old version, but the PRO is all that on steroids! We also purchased the add on camera.Perfect Non-WiFi monitor!! Read more
