Read more Read more PREPARATION Equipments Needed Ceramic or Glass bowl, Wooden, Plastic or Ceramic spoon, Pair of Disposable, Rubber Gloves, Hair-dying Brush, Wooden wide-tooth Comb, Plastic Film or a Disposable Shower Cap Mixing Henna Take sufficient amount of Indigo Powder according to the volume and length of your hair. Add lukewarm water and stir till you obtain a paste of thick consistency. Clean Your Hair Make sure to have clean hair before preparing the Indigo. Cover Your Hair Line & Ears Apply some coconut oil to your hairline, ears and neck to keep them protected from color. USING HENNA/INDIGO FOR DARK PURPLE, BLUE BLACK OR JET BLACK COLOR While using Indigo with Henna for Dark Purple, Black Blue or Jet Black color, It is advisable to use a 2 steps application (the same day or in 2 days) so that you prepare an uniform base and to be sure that the dark purple or blue black shades won't wash out as easily. TWO STEP METHOD: 1st Application: Apply for 3-4 hours, only Henna / Lawsonia inermis. 2nd Application: Apply for 3-4 hours only Indigo. You may try mixing both Henna and Indigo to obtain unique black hair shades. ONE STEP METHOD: If you are using 1 step application (using a mix of Henna/lawsonia & Indigo), you will hardly obtain dark purple hair, blue black hair or jet black hair. Application: Apply for 3-4 hours, Mix of Henna / Lawsonia inermis and Indigo Powder in your desired proportion. IMPORTANT NOTES (1) We recommend you perform a strand test before using our Henna / Indigo Powder on your hair to establish duration, warmth and color desired before application. (2) When using Natural products like Henna and Indigo, Please keep in mind that every product will react and color your hair uniquely. The result may vary according to the harvest time of ingredients and also depends on the individual's body type, hair texture, existing/original hair color, duration and warmth. (3) Remember that you will see the real and final color of your hair only after 3 or 4 days from the application when the Henna/Indigo finish their oxidation process. (4) Henna / Indigo Hair colors are Natural and Plant Based, you can use as often as you like. Use multiple times to build an intense & bright color. (5) It is NOT possible to lighten your hair using natural hair dyes like Henna or Indigo, all you can do is maintain, enhance or darken your natural color. (6) Most Commercial henna has to be chemically altered to improve color output. They may add chemicals such as PPD (para-phenylenediamine) to get that darker color customers are demanding. Possible side effects PPD, especially in children and those with allergies and sensitive skin, my include itchy skin, rashes, blisters, and nausea. As the Organic Henna doesn't contain any additives or chemical dyes, It will not give as Dark color as Chemically treated Henna.
