I use 1 tablespoon of powder and about 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and its enough for me, my mom, and sister. If you have really sensitive skin I would recommend using with water instead of apple cider vinegar as it leaves skin slightly red and puffy for a bit but it fades. I have used it twice a week for almost 2 months and my blemishes and freckles have faded significantly. My mom uses it too and loves. I have used this mask twice with organic apple cider vinegar with the mother. After taking it off the first time, I was immediately sold! I have adult acne which I had managed to clear up, but the maskne struggle is real. So I decided to give this a go. Here are a few things I have learned:It stinks. Bad. I'm still going to use it, though, because it's that good!If you do use ACV, don't use metal utensils to mix or apply because it causes a chemical reaction, apparently.Start by adding a little of the clay powder and then slowly add the ACV. Mix. I wound up trashing about half of the mixture I made the first time.You have to really spackle it on thick. The jar recommends 1/8 to 1/4 inches. I ordered a silicone mask spatula when I ordered this, and I'm very glad I did.The jar says to rinse off with warm water. One does not simply rinse off thick, solidified clay with warm water. I have used this mask twice, and it takes me 15-20 minutes. I have to get my fingernails involved. The first time I got it in my hair (which was pulled back), my ears, and my nose. The second time I used a stretchy headband along my hairline, which helped some. I'm a little worried about the chunks gunking up my really old plumbing that is bad because of age and really hard water. So, the second time, I tried to scraped the bulk of it off with a damp paper towel, which did nothing. So, I knelt over the bathtub and put in the stopper in hopes of collecting most of the chunks. The tub was almost filled to the safety drain when I was finally finished. I will continue to try different removal ideas and will update if I find a good one.I should note that I do not have sensitive skin and that my skin is oily. The first time I used this mask, I left it on for 15 minutes. The second time, which was two days later, I left it on for 20 minutes. This is the second time I’ve both this!! It’s amazing. You can feel it pulling the oil and dirt out of your skin. When you wash it off I can see that my pores are visibly smaller. This is a staple beauty product for a reason! I've used clay masks from various brands over the years, including KIEHL'S clay mask that costs twice the price of this. I have to say...the Aztec clay mask provides the best results out of all clay masks. I wasn't aware that this is powder, and you have to mix it with water yourself. This is the one aspect i don't like about this product. It's very messy and difficult to mix the perfect consistency. But it is honestly worth the trouble. When it first came out couple of years ago, the clay did miracles to me, family and friends. We all thought it was the best kept secret about skin care products...I personally had tiny holes in my face and a lot of black spots, they all started to disappear after the first use. I only used this clay for 1 month to achieve great skin (always mixed it with apple cider vinegar and kept it on face for no more than 15 minutes).Now I am not sure which ingredients they added or removed, it simply doesn't do it for us anymore, we all have different types of skin and we're all disappointed of the results we got this time around.
