I bought this for parting my daughter's 3c / 4a hair when protective styling. I got it last week and used it for the first time last night to part for some simple puffs. It was SO much easier to get a straight part with the fine metal tip than with either our bone rat-tail comb or plastic rat-tail pic. I don't think I will use the actual comb part--it's too fine-toothed for either my hair or my little girl's. But I love the metal tail; it's just perfect for what I bought it for. And I was sold on this particular comb because it comes with the felted case to protect the comb from breaking, protect the people handling it from getting stabbed, and protect surfaces and other tools from getting scratched or stabbed while it's in storage. I bought one for my standard poodles Top Knot. The rat glides thru her hair when parting without catching or snagging.I bought a 2nd one so it’s in a couple places in the house and I don’t have to go looking for it in the mornings or from the other end of the house.I have stuff arthritic hands particularly in the mornings and even though it’s small it is still pretty easy to hold.The case is nice and keeps it protected and easier to find/pick up. The rat tail is very thin and will come thru the end of the felt type case. I guess I use the case for protecting the rat tail and maybe it is meant more to protect the comb teeth. Read more

I love this comb so much it’s one of the best combs i’ve ever used, i’ve used it in the shower to brush through my hair, to get the hair out of my hair brush and to part my hair and style it. It all works perfectly and the quality of this product is outstanding. i have curly hair so it’s hard to find combs that don’t break while combing my hair. However i haven’t used heat on this product because i don’t use heat on my hair so i’m not sure how heat does with this product. for all other services i recommend this product for all hair types. I bought this comb simply because the listing said it was anti static. It is NOT.I have fine, thin hair. It 's insanely long and when I wear it down, I like to curl it on a curling wand. So I need a good comb to section it off. I also need a comb I can use to lift the roots for volume.This is a nice comb, and much sturdier than the little plastic one I'd been using. But it doesn't help with the static at all. I find that I still have to constantly wet it down. And I can't seem to get it dry after. There's nothing worse than working to curl stubborn hair and then running a wet comb through it!Also, the rat tail pick thing on the end is deadly. It comes in a sleeve, but that pointy bit will poke right through it. Read more

The comb seems sturdy. The end isn’t as pointy as it should be. It’s used to make straight parts to your hair it shouldn’t be a ball at the end. It took me a while to make this lil part and it’s still not straight enough. My pen is still better to part my hair unfortunately. Read more

Me and my wife both have long hair and my wife does all kind of stuff with her hair. Also with the home isolation due to the pandemic I too have to go through her hair sessions.She bought this mainly for styling and she says this is really good to parting hair when using straitening/curling irons. But not so good to detangle. If I use this without using my regular comb before, I end up breaking a lot of hair. :( Read more

I've been wearing my hair short and fluffy for quite a few years. Now I'm trying to let it grow out but I'd forgotten how hard it is to make a straight part. Also I want something to section my hair as I teach myself to use a flat iron. I thought a comb with a very thin tail like this one might help me with both issues and it does! It works just the way I hoped it would! Unfortunately, if something can go wrong, it usually does. It was shipped in a thin bubble envelope and the carrier managed to bend the tail. I managed to bend it back most of the way but it doesn't look like a new tool. If you're luckier than I was, yours will arrive unscathed.
