I got lasik 18 months ago and I’ve been suffering from pretty severe dry eyes (especially in my left eye) I’ve been taking these pills 4 a day. Normally, if I wake up in the middle of the night, I can’t even open my eyes the pain is so bad. Overnight gel helped, but I was pretty much useless if I needed to SEE. These have changed my life. I was out driving and noticed how dewy my eyes feel. I’m so comfortable! My own tears! Read more

My dermatologist says I have Rosacea in my eyes. Symptoms: feels like sand in my eyes, and can't endure watching TV after about 7 p.m. I found out about this product on Consumer Lab newsletter. Directions say take it for at least 2 months to get results. But I had some good results after 2 weeks. After 6 weeks very good results. I can watch tv. And I have noticeable tears, which I have not had for a long time. Discomfort eased about 80%. DRAWBACKS: 1. this product is very expensive; 2. this product contains a high dose of B-6, which worries me; you have to take 4 pills a day. My experience and reading suggest to me that I may have Sjogren's Syndrome, which is actually an autoimmune condition. Not sure. Risk factors match me: older, overweight, high chloresterol, wine drinker, probably have a little too much saturated fat in diet (but not bad). The theory behind this product is that it boosts GLA (an omega-6 essential fatty acid) that the body makes itself, but perhaps stops making as we age It contains black currant seed oil, which is high in GLA. I am going to experiment with taking one HydroEye in morning, and then switching to less expensive black currant seed oil capsules. That will reduce the B-6 dose, and save money. But I am not sure it will work as well. UPDATE, 9/26/18HydroEye continues to work for me. I did experiment with stretching the expensive HydroEye pills by swapping out a couple of Black Currant Seed Oil pills each day, and that seemed to work. But I decided I really wanted the maximum relief, and have been buying the pills. I had one period when I developed odd pin-prick pain in my hand joints. This worried me about the B-6 dose in the pills. So, again, I swapped out half the dose with the Black Currant Seed Oil. After about a week the prickly apparently nerve related pain in my hands diminished, and then disappeared. I don't know for sure if there was a relationship. Since then I have gone back to the full dose. But if the pain returns I will switch out again. Read the label before you take it. There's a bunch of stuff in there. Read more

After suffering from dry eye syndrome for years, trying basically every OTC eyedrop with no long term relief, my doctor suggested these supplements. To be fair, at the same time he prescribed Xiidra eye drops. The side effects from the Xiidra were intolerable. I stopped the drops and continued with the HydroEye softgels. It's amazing how much my dry eye symptoms have improved!!! I was skeptical thinking, ehhh they're just supplements, how effective could they possibly be??! A world of difference! I'm so glad I tried these instead of another eye drop that would just add to my collection of half used bottles. Highly five star recommended!!!! Read more

More studies are coming out that question the efficacy of using fish oil alone for dry eye/MGD problems. Hydroeye has several studies backing up the claims of the product. I've been using it for three months along with Optimel Manuka Eye Gel and my eyes feel normal, white, and clear for the first time in THREE YEARS. I've spent over 10 grand on almost every dry eye/MGD treatment out there....please try this combination if you have dry eye caused by meibomian gland dysfunction. I can't explain how good it feels to have my life back. I was in a very dark place prior to these two products. Read more

I’m a contact lens wearer who lives in a dry climate and is also a cyclist. My dry eyes had reached the point that I was about to abandon contact lenses even though I had switched to very gentle silicone daily wear lenses. My optometrist mentioned that “antioxidants can help.” Then a few weeks later, my sister, who has similar problems, told me she was taking Hydroeye and that it was working for her. The price is pretty high, but I decided I would try it for just one month to see if it helped even a little and whether I could justify the price in the long run. Honestly, even though it was helping my sister, I was still pretty skeptical about this product given how dry my eyes were. Well, even though the manufacturer explains that it can take 30-60 days to notice any improvement, my eyes were dramatically better within a week. No more contact lens issues, no more changing lenses after bike rides, no more itchy dry eyes, even on dry, dusty days. I’m completely sold. It’s worth $40 a month just to have this problem go away. My eye doctor told me I had dry eyes and that my tears didn't have enough lipids in them to keep my eyes moist. He wanted to put me on a prescription drug ($150.00 per bottle!) that wasn't covered by my insurance. I asked if there was something else I could do. He suggested an eye vitamin and eye drops and had me schedule an appointment to check on them after a month.I bought these and some eye drops and started using them. By my next appointment, my eyes had improved so dramatically my eye doctor was amazed! He told me to "keep taking whatever it is you're taking, because it's working." Read more

I had my doubts, but Ihave been using HydroEye for 6+ months and I have had a significant improvement with my dry eye syndrome. My Opthomologist recommended trying this instead of prescription drops. He said to give it a good 3 months to build up in my body. I do use eye drops in the morning when I wake up, but I do not have to use them again in the same day. Read more

I have been using hydro eye for about 6 weeks. I have reduced the amount of eye drops that I have had to use. I have chronic dry eye from thyroid problems. My eye doc says my eyes are still dry but I am feeling better and that is important. I use Xiidra, hydroeye and I also use a vaporizer at night and I also continue to put eye drops on as needed, that is my daily regime. Hope this helps. But hyroeye has really helped. Read more

I had high hopes for these tablets as my dry eye is bad!I am on my second bottle and there is absolutely no change. I know it says 60 days but it’s 35 and I would anticipate some improvement rather than none at all.I am so disappointed Read more

Having read the reviews, I had such high hopes for these, but after taking 2 pills every morning and 2 everyevening for two weeks, it has made no difference at all. In fact, my eyes are drier than they were with the oil I was previously taking. I will finish the bottle, and if there is any improvement I will amend this review, buy so far it has been a disappointing waste of money. Read more
