I bought this as a much needed form of organization for my daughter’s toys. I wanted something that was inexpensive and would help keep the toys organized. I shopped around and went to a couple of furniture stores looking for something, but just couldn’t find the right thing. For the price, this is an awesome little piece of furniture. It looks great in my daughter’s room and was super easy to put together. I think it took me 20 minutes max to put it together and get it all setup. Arrived on time, well packaged and no damage to any of the pieces. It took me and my husband about 15 minutes to put two of these units together. They seem very sturdy and I'm so happy to have all my kids' toys organized and in one room instead of in different bins and baskets here and there throughout the house. Got this as a gift for my granddaughter. She needed a toy box, but they don’t have a lot of floor space, so I got this instead. It’s much better than a toy box where all the toys would be in a big heap. These plastic bins help to keep everything much more organized, she can see and find what she is looking for more easily, and it also takes up a lot less floor space than a toy box. When she wants to play, she can simply lift out the particular bin that is needed, and put it on the floor to play, and then put it back. It’s also a good way to teach the kids to take out “one” (bin) at a time instead of tossing all the contents of a toy box out onto the floor. It was easy to put together and is very strong. You can arrange the bins onto the stand in many different ways and combinations. It also comes with some safety straps to tie it to the wall for safety. This thing has positively changed my sons perspective on his room!!! Before, we had a crappy “toy box” and he hated digging through it to find something. It was chaos for him. This organizer fits all of his toys, LEGOS, Hotwheels, nerf bullets, nerf guns, Action figures, balls, tool sets with all the little pieces and every other miscellaneous toy he owns without the hassle of digging and not finding what it was he was looking for. Before we had basically a storage bin that was ugly and beat up. Now he knows where everything is and he plays with all his toys more. We have had it for about a month or more now and it’s still in amazing shape, it’s very sturdy and it gets used daily. The best part, his room gets cleaned every night with no complaints. Kids love organization and this thing is the best thing for them. And the colors fit his super Mario themed room really well!!! This is one of the best upgrades to my sons room so far!!!Update: it’s been almost a year since we got this and it’s still just as amazing! I was hesitant to purchase this based off of the reviews saying it wasn't sturdy and that the bins were cheap/flimsy/arrived broken. Ours was simple to construct and is very sturdy, so much so we didn't apply the anchors. The bins were all intact and to be honest, feel very durable and seem thick. -StandThe "wood" material is MDF and anyone who's purchased furniture before should be familiar with this type of material. It isn't meant for long term use and doesn't hold up to moisture well. The "wood" is covered with a glued-on veneer like material that is plastic. I don't see this product as a long term solution but since I'm sure our girls will grow out of it within two years of usage, it may not be an issue. It's sturdy enough but if your kids tend to climb these things, the sturdiness could degrade rather quickly. The dowel rods screw into each end so if you screw them tight enough, it may help a bit.The dowel rods are made of what I believe is aluminum so don't expect them to be very strong. Again, if you have little climbers they will most likely bend them out of shape.-Storage BinsThe bins are made of a thin plastic that isn't very good quality. The instructions warn you not to put them into the dishwasher and for good reason-they'll most likely warp from the heat. If you set this organizer in direct sunlight all day, I'm convinced the sunlight may warp them as well. Ours came chipped in some corners so be aware if you order one.-OverallIt serves it's purpose which is to work as a single collection point for our kids toys and help them learn to be organized. Ours came with a bit of damage to the bins as well as one of the "wooden" side panels. As long as you're not looking for a long term solution for organizing your little ones toys and they don't climb it, you should be ok.-ConclusionIt is what it is, you're going to get what you pay for. The only reason I bought another is because I was adamant on it matching my other child’s.Update: The second order was worse than the first.
