Works on all different tools but better on some than others. As you can see, ALL of my tools needed major cleaning. I tried all types of household cleaners and sponges, but none of them worked. I found that this cleaner worked exceptionally well on my gold plated curling iron. However, it did not work well at all on my waver (not sure what it’s made out of) and I had to really scrub it to get it to work at all, plus spray it multiple times. I have no idea how this product has such great reviews— it doesn’t work AT ALL. I tried it several times, and it hasn’t removed anything. And there isn’t even much product buildup on my flatiron, just enough that the plates don’t glide as smoothly over the hair as they used to. Not even enough to see as you’re looking at the plates. This spray couldn’t even get THAT off. I don’t know if I got a bad batch or something, but it smells just like windex and made absolutely no difference. Waste of money. Read more

I gave it 2 stars because it does remove some residue but honestly it doesn’t work efficiently at all. I’ve scrubbed 4 times and left the product on my curling and flat iron for almost 10 minutes and I still have residue on my irons. I used this on mine that was getting dirty. Tried home remedies and nothing worked. Soray this on and i used an SOS pad. I know that's nit recommended because it could scratch the surface as i was told. Did it anyways and spraying this product. It took all the build up off, and guess what. The SOS pad didnt scratch. Moving forward a few times a week use this cleaner, and wipe with a cloth and it will keep from getting buildup. Read more

I have always had flat irons to come to their demise after a year or two of putting out. Never did I think it was because of the heating element having to work overtime, and under extreme pressure, due to the fact that I never cleaned them.With this last flat iron purchase I decided to do a little different. So before this one died I decided to clean it. Boy does this cleaner work. Coated with burnt on gunk about 1mm thick, this job was not easy, nor was it too hard. It just took a while to actually get down to the plate safely, without damaging it. I know for a fact nothing else would have worked. Purchased this to clean my hot tools. Every once in a while they need a good deep clean from all their gunk. I had not cleaned mine in a long while. (don't judge) And it got everything off. Not in one go. I cleaned it about twice. The second time was more for minor, and final detailing. I wish I had taken some before and after photos.
