I have really thick hair and my Paul Mitchell flatiron doesn't really curl my hair. I needed something that wasn't coated in ceramic because ceramic doesn't do anything for my hair. I've used this iron a couple of times now and I love it! The curls last all day and their a nice curl, nothing too bouncy or Shirley Temple-ish. So glad I bought it and would recommend it to anyone with coarse hair. Read more
I bought this a few months ago but just started using it recently. As someone who curls their hair daily, I was not impressed with this product. Granted, I have very thick hair. However, this iron does not get as hot as it should. Because of that, within 20 minutes the curl has completely fallen out. I typically use the hot tools gold plate and it worked MUCH better. Because this one was more expensive, I thought it would work better, but I was wrong. Read more
As a professional hair stylist this is one of my favorite curling irons. I have tried many other brands three times the cost and always find myself going back to hot tools. The curling iron heats up very quickly, in less than a minute, and maintains a consistent temperature throughout curling. This allows you to spend less time holding the iron to each curl, which could be damaging the hair. The plastic tip at the end of the iron allows you to use both hands to guide the hair without burning yourself. My curls last throughout the entire day, only loosening up slightly, and sometimes will even still look good the next morning! I a always loved the way my stylist was able to curl my stick straight hair into a wave and have it last for a couple days. I used the same products and methods he did, but could never get my style to last as long. I finally figured it must be the tool, so I asked him what he uses and he told me this Hot Tools curling iron. I was shocked to see the low price once I found it on Amazon. I have been soo pleased over the past few months, I will never use another brand again! My hair will now hold a wave in wind, even on a boat with NO PRODUCT! I have thick, stick straight hair and have never been able to curl or add wave this easily. It takes a total of about 10-15 mins to curl while it used to be an hour plus. Love this curling iron. I have used Hot Tools and Helen of Troy over the years and this is great. The price was great too, I saw this on the Sally Beauty Supply website for $51.00 and it was not the size I needed (I needed the 1.5") so this is not only a good product and great price, but it also arrived very quickly, just when my old curling iron was on its last legs! I have straight, curl resistant hair. Hot Tools curling irons are the only tools that get hot enough to curl my hair. I’ve been buying them for years. I originally bought the wrong size, and thought I had cancelled. But I received it & decided to keep both sizes for different looks. I have no regrets.Best curling irons out there for the price.
