The media could not be loaded.  This curling wand is wonderful! I tried it right away after it was delivered. I first tried it on medium heat which worked well and then added a little more heat to get an even more defined curl. It o my takes about 3 minutes to heat up. I’ve used this same brand and size but in actual curling iron. So I was happy to see they made a wand. I like this especially because the circumference of the wand is the same from top to bottom. Most of my other wands are big then tapper down in size which gives a completely different look. I included a video for those who it may help on how to use it. I don’t really post reviews that often but after reading them myself for this particular wand it almost deterred me from buying it. However, I have been a Hot Tools user for a long time and decided to trust the brand I love. My gut was right, another great tool. I do believe a lot of the negative reviews on this tool come from user error. It is important to note that just because it looks like a curling iron, doesn’t mean it acts like a curling iron. With a wand you have to create the tension with your hair yourself to keep it tightly wrapped around the wand. It takes practice but even with my fine hair that doesn’t curl too easily, I get nice beachy waves with this tool. I have reasonably long hair--some may call it medium length while others may say it can be classified as "long." Either way, I've been using curling wands for years and have always been able to get my hair to curl really well. I was looking for one with a larger barrel so as to make large curls, and was hoping this one would serve that purpose. However, I have never found a hair curling tool to be as baffling as this one. It gets hot enough to burn your flesh, but will not form a curl. Doesn't even "bend" the hair a little bit. Even when I put only a few strands it did nothing. I cannot fathom how the barrel can get hot enough to burn flesh but won't curl even one hair, but this item does just that. Returning this for a refund as IT IS WORTHLESS. Read more

I was a little skeptical from reading some of the reviews, but I decided the price was worth the risk - and I am pleasantly surprised! It works great for my hair type, and I love the curls it produces. The 1 1/4 inch is the perfect size. I did tons of research for a wand with adjustable heat settings AND a decent price, which is surprisingly hard to find. I finally came across this wand and thought it checked all the boxes. I've had and used wands for 7ish years, and this still had a learning curve. I somehow kept getting hair caught in the flip out stand, which then messes up the curls. I also didn't think about the tip of the wand not getting hot. At first it seemed nice to give a second spot to steady the barrel, but there is a ridge between the barrel and the plastic tip, which also catches the curl as I pull the barrel away and messes up the curl. Overall, it does what I need it to, but its been frustrating to work around these issues. Read more

I love Hot Tools and I was looking for a curling iron that wouldn’t leave a bump from the clamp...but I just couldn’t use this thing. It got plenty hot which is what I love about these products, but it was insanely hard to use without a plastic grip on the end or anything. The glove is not going to protect your hand from the heat of the barrel, and it says as much on it so don’t try doing that!I dunno, for someone more skilled than myself it may be great, but it just didn’t work for me. The curling iron is easy to use and has temp control. My favorite wand broke after 7 years so I was told by a friend to try this one. My previous wand was the same size and left big loose waves that held all day. This one doesn’t curl my hair. I even used smaller sections than I normally do. I’d curl a piece take the iron out and by the time I curled a few more sections the first curl was straight. I even put product in my hair and tried again and still the curl fell right out. I got the 1 inch wand. I have long elbow length hair. The coarseness is medium slightly wavy/straight. I typically use it on the highest setting and only have my hair on the wand for around 5 seconds. It took me one use before figuring out what heat setting and how long to leave my hair on the wand worked. I do not use the glove but I am used to curling and using heat tools on my hair and I dont wrap the ends all the way around. I usually go a week between hair washing and I still have curls by the time wash day comes around. After curling they are a little tighter than I would normally want but once they relax it's perfect and lasts a long time of course they get looser with time so on wash day its more beachy waves but I rarely touch up.
