I really like this little sound machine. I have other sound machines, but none of them have the choice of white, pink or brown sounds! They only have the white sound. I didn't even know that the other sounds existed! My favorite one is the brown sound. It is deeper and has a very soothing effect. I like everything about this little machine. I like the compact size, the muted blue color, how easy it is to use, and the many choices that it has.I tried falling asleep with the meditation, and it did have a relaxing effect, but it didn't put me to sleep. I am too used to falling asleep with the tv on and a timer set for one hour. I like how portable this machine is. I can take it from room to room without having to worry about plugging it in somewhere. It lasts for hours before it needs to be recharged again. I am glad that I discovered this little machine. Very disappointed that the machine can run for up to only 90 minutes, so it won't run all night. Also, there are absolutely no instructions in the box. You turn on the power button but nothing happens. Turns out you have to hold it down for a couple of seconds like rebooting the computer. Sounds themselves are pleasant and I found the volume controls to be adequate. Had wanted to take this with me on a trip but it will go back to Amazon instead. Read more

I purchased this thing a long time ago as a last ditch effort to get my child to sleep. Since the day he was born, he has been a horrible sleeper. We bought this and it helps so much to get him into the "sleep" frame of mind. He's almost 6 now and we still use it every night.Just last night we were listening to the sleep meditation mode. He told me he was going to close his eyes, but NOT sleep! He was insistent he just wanted to close his eyes. Within minutes of practicing deep breathing and listening to the woman's angelic voice, he was out. It works wonders! I even like listening to it! Using for my newborn.I’ve had a number of sound machines for my toddler and even tried a different one for my1.5 month old before we got this one. I rank it highly in comparison. Great price for a little sound machine with great sound and long battery life! It’s useful for travel because it has a rechargeable battery however, if there were a hook ring attached to it or something to hang it from that would have been perfect! Hanging a sound machine from the stroller or attaching it near a car seat is really helpful, that’s the one quality this sound machine lacks.The sound and tone adjustments are awesome. I hadn’t seen a sound machine with time adjustment before. It makes a huge difference being able to customize the tone for different situations. And it just allows for the noise to be more pleasing to the ear.Able to use it plugged in or off its battery source. If you’re going to get a sound machine you might as well get one that can go cordless. It really changes the game. Read more

I bought this sound machine in response to having spent a week in a cabin with a room air conditioner. I found the hum of the A/C seemed to help me sleep and thought I'd give a "white noise" machine a try. However, me being me, doesn't like to pay a ton for what is essentially an experiment. At about $20, The HoMedics product, which I've owned for about a month, looks great, offers six sounds, and works very well. What I like best is it offers three "white noise" sounds: white, pink, and brown. Each is lower in tonal quality so you can choose the one that best replicates what you enjoy hearing. It does not cover up my husband's snoring, but allows me to concentrate on a specific, unchanging sound while falling asleep, which somehow mitigates the sinus knocking going on next to me. Needed this item to help me fall asleep. Did not work for me at all. This does not mean it would be the same for you so, you would need to try this for yourself. I had read an article and thought it to work. I was so excited and expecting it to be wonderful, unfortunately it was not for me, but you do need to try it for a few nights.I contacted the company and they were marvelous. They were sad it did not work for me, but, were very happy to return my money on receipt of the item. On receipt they refunded me in full.
