This product is great! It is better than Toppix, in my opinion, because it has more accurate, realistic colors, better results, and it is less expensive. You don’t sacrifice quality for a lower price, and the results look more natural. Be sure to follow the directions and pat it on your scalp to avoid clumping, and I think you’ll be pleased. Well, let’s see...I ordered this AND purchased a bottle of Toppix from Walgreens because I was impatient.I’m an impatient person. There- I said it.Anyhoo...I tried the Toppix and I hafta say that I liked it. The only thing I like BETTER about this particular product is that the dark brown color is richer and more accurate to “dark brown”, whereas the Toppix dark brown is indistinguishable from black.A lot of people have commented about the necessity of an applicator and I can’t comment on this because I haven’t used one.But I’m going to comment anyway. Because that’s who I am.After attempting to apply this on my own, I did some due diligence when it came to applicators, but none of them seemed impressive enough for me to take the plunge. I’m not made of money, ya know. I wish there WERE an easier way to apply this stuff, but I’m at a loss to figure out what it would be and where to find it. If y’all have any ideas, find me willya?Applying hair fibers is just like frosting a cake. If you do it right, it looks all sexy and presentable. Mess it up, and people are going to stare at it with pity. Since I am forced to use only my own two hands to get the job done, here’s how I did it:1. Get a towel. A big one. Or an apron. Or a full body hazmat suit. This stuff will get EVERYWHERE, especially the first few times you use it.2. Hold the bottle about 3-4 inches above the application site. Any closer and you’ll get polka dot spots that match the pattern of the applicator cap and you’ll look like you have a disease of the scalp. Any further away and it’ll be all over your house and lawn.3. Ladies (and some gents, I suppose): DO NOT apply your makeup until AFTER you do your hair. I cannot stress this enough, because...4. You will need to wipe your hairline/forehead/entire face after application. This stuff gets EVERYWHERE.5. Once you apply it, “fluff” your hair with a comb. DO NOT LET THE COMB TOUCH YOUR SCALP. If you do, you’ll have stripes and they look stupid. Seriously. Trust me.6. If you need to get your hairline and DON’T have the funky jagged comb that Toppix offers, use a small-toothed comb against your hairline and shake conservatively. If you’re not careful, you’ll end up with a hairline like Frankenstein’s monster. I highly recommend the jagged comb, though.7. I haven’t yet tried the “hold spray” recommended for use with hair fibers, but I’ve used regular hairspray and it works fine. Not sure what it’ll do to my hair after sitting on it for three days, but whatever.8. Stop running your fingers through your hair. Your hands will resemble a coal miner (unless your fibers are blond or red, in which case you’ll look like you’ve been stroking French fries or playing with beets).9. Wind doesn’t seem to affect the fibers. Not sure about sweat, but I’ll keep you posted. Haven’t seen any on my pillows either.The most important thing to remember is to BE CONSERVATIVE. Much like decorating a cake, or nagging your spouse, KNOW WHEN TO STOP. Otherwise, you WILL make it worse.And to those of you who think my use of humor is minimizing the seriousness of issue, you should know that I’m 45 and I’m going bald. I have to be funny, or I’ll cry.Update: I have since tried the Toppix spray filler in dark brown and it’s a great product! Much easier to use than the loose fibers. Doesn’t come off on your hands if you tend to run your fingers through your hair a lot like I do (bad habit, I know). The only cons are that it smells like hairspray, feels a bit stiff on your hair and costs more than the powder, especially if you need to apply two different colors to get the right shade. On the other hand, you can give your hair a thorough brushing immediate after use and you don’t have to worry about streaking. Read more

I bought this as a joke for my boyfriend but it actually turn led out to work quite well. Its not permanent or water proof but its not one that he would have to worry about it running down his face either. But it did give him a more fuller look and i couldnt even tell it was the product on his scalp. This product has become part of my daily routine. I am not bald, but have some thinning and this is perfect for filling in some of those areas without looking noticeable. It creates a very natural look that would be really hard to see, unless someone was really close to your hair. It is easy to apply, but I would recommend combing it in to blend it in your hair. Amazing quality, highly recommend for anyone trying to disguise their bald spots. I was skeptical at first, as I had never tried this product before, but once I applied this onto my very thin hair, it made my hair look thicker. After chemo, my hair did not come back as thick as it once was. My hairdresser introduced me to a similar product but in order to reduce cost, I did a little extra research. This works as well, if not better, than what I can find locally. Love it and will continue to use! My only complaint would be that it does make a mess in the bathroom! There’s nothing to like! Washed my hair, blow dried it. Took a mirror ...the large bald areas are in back. Got the products sprinkled it quite well on the first one, and patted it. What was it supposed to do? I kept patting, it didn’t go into scalp, nothing. Plus I ordered blonde. It was pure white?? I tried it on the other area. Same thing. I have been waiting for something to help. After reading the reviews I thought this was it! FORGET IT! I reapplied twice. Nothing.im unable to return. I live in Retirement Apt., no transportation. Works great on my thinning hair. I use the grey color and it matches up perfectly. I don't attempt to cover the bald spot on the crown of my head, but I gently sprinkle the powder on the remaining hair on top and gently pat it in. It increases the thickness by, at least, 50% in my opinion. It also decreases the stringy, oily look my hair gets later in the day. I'll be ordering again for sure. Read more
