I have to admit that I love these. I've had mine now a couple of weeks and I am having a hard time resisting adding a different color to my hair each day. I have very dark hair that normally requires bleaching to color, and my hair isn't currently bleached. These colors show up nicely. They are bright but not electric (except in the sunlight). The website says they are cruelty-free, too, so yay for fun guilt-free colors!I will admit that it took me a couple of tries to get this to work, especially in my daughter's long hair. My inclination was to read the instructions and then lather this on and brush it out, but that didn't work out at all. So I want to advise, because I see there are some negative reviews where people are having the same problems that I had at first, but I was able to find ways to make it work without being thick, sticky, waxy, or caked on.First, although the instructions say to apply to wet hair, I have had a lot better luck applying this dry.Second, it says to start at the roots and work toward the ends. This is what I do with my short hair, but with long hair, I found applying at the ends and slowly moving up to work best. I work with small chunks at a time, and put the rest of the hair up in a clip so that it doesn't get in the way.Third, it says to put a dime-size on the palm of your hand, rub it in to your hands, and then apply. YOU REALLY WANT TO USE THIS LITTLE (or at quarter-size at the very most, but a thin quarter, not a thick one). It may seem, especially if you have dark hair, that the color is far to light when you apply such a small amount, but the best way to get a nice rich color is not to cake it on but to create layers. Put a little bit on, then a little more, then a little more, etc. Yes, it takes longer, but you'll actually get soft colored hair instead of waxy caked hair.You also need a brush with the bristles pretty close together. I have been using my daughter's detangler brush (http://a.co/4qBZvQz) and it works great! My hair is not as soft as normal, but it feels like I have a little bit of hairspray in it, not like it's full of gel or wax.I hope this helps you use this product. Now, there are a couple of cons. The first one is that this stuff smells like men's cologne. It's not an unpleasant smell, but it's not subtle. Since I bought this hair wax for myself and my daughter, the smell overrides the more subtle fragrances we wear. I wish the smell was less overbearing and less masculine.The second issue is that the "red" color is really more of a magenta. For us it's not really a big deal. My daughter likes the "pink" color, although I had been hoping for the flame red that appears in the pictures. This is something you should know before buying the pack, just because it isn't as pictured.Overall, I am extremely happy with my purchase. Great colors. Lasts all day. Washed out in minutes. I started making custom colors combining the colors in a bowl. A little goes a long way. My beard is white so it shows really well. I was a little skeptical about purchasing this product because I have veryyyy thick natural hair and wasn’t to sure whether or not it was going to show but yet ALL colors did except red. I gave my roommate the red because it was to dark for my hair (it didn’t show) but my favorite color which I used the most was the blue and yellow/gold. Most importantly it’s easy to use. Based on reviews I had read on amazon and watched on Youtube, this product was exactly what I expected. As temporary hair coloring products go, this one is probably the best. It definitely comes out the best when you apply while your hair is wet (not dripping, but more wet than damp). Comb through the product so it doesn't clump in your hair, then dry as normal. Your hair will feel dried out/possibly frizzy because there's literally a product coating your hair, but it overall looks really nice and vibrant. It does get on your hands/brush/comb, so be wary of the mess. However, it washes out SO EASILY. Just with the touch of water it comes off. I enjoy these but at the same time I hate these. I loved the option of having color when I wanted it without the commitment. But wow is it a sticky wax! I love these. I have black, super curly hair so I feel like this product was made for my hair type. I can't dye my hair without bleaching it first, but with how dark my hair is it does a great deal of damage and to deal with my curls I usually need to use hair honey to keep them calm. With this product I can control my curls and color my hair without damaging it using one product. It makes my hair a bit stiffer than my usual hair honey if I want a deeper color, but on the upside that can also give me the chance to style it a bit more. Plus since it just washes out, it's something fun I can do with my oldest niece and let her express herself without incurring the wrath of her very conservative parents.All around I'd definitely buy this again once I'm out. Product reads that hair will style normally and not be stiff after it is dried. I applied to damp hair and made sure was DRY before I attempted to style. It curled STIFF. No possibility of “scrunching the crunch”. With long, soft hair, this does not look good. It did wash out just fine, but does not work well for my hair style. Would probably be fine for shorter hairstyles, or maybe curly hair that uses more product in the styling process. Read more
