My hair is a baby fine chestnut brown in which white hairs have just begun to appear.I therefore got the notion that it might be fun to temporarily dye my hair silver as kind of a sneak peak of how it would look if I let it go completely grey/white.Although this wax seemed like the perfect consequence free way to explore a radically new hair color, the results were disappointing, though not because of the color I chose...The instructions for this tell you to apply it to completely clean hair that is 80% dry.Personally, I found the idea of 80% dry a little vague, so I aimed for damp dry hair that was freshly cleaned and well combed.The first thing I noticed was that getting consistent coverage was almost impossible.The next thing I realized was that, while the instructions tell you to style your hair as desired, getting a comb through your hair once the wax is in becomes nearly impossible.Then, I saw that my hair was spreading silver dust everywhere I went, like so much glittery dandruff.After using the entire jar of product, my hair was a streaky gun metal grey that was kind of funky, but also nearly impossible to brush, let alone style.With all that being said I would not say this product could not work for other people.I believe if you have blonde hair, this silver color would produce a more appealing effect.I also feel like someone with shorter hair would have better luck getting more complete coverage that was also easier to style.My hair being baby fine and long worked against me because it breaks very easily, which means the stiff sticky texture this wax added to my hair did damage to my locks that it would not do to someone with stronger strands.On a far more positive note, this silver hair wax washes off hands, clothes, and hair quickly and completely, which is good because it rubs off very easily.In that sense, it is not a bad product because, even if you make a colossal mess, in the end you can't do any permanent damage with this wax.Based on my experience, I would not recommend this to everyone, however I could see it as most effective for people:- with short hair- with light colored hair- who plan to wear their hair slicked back- whose hair is strong- who want to add streaks of silver in their hairIn the end, if you want to use this as part of a costume, as a fun way to style your hair for a special event, or just because you feel like doing something outrageous with your hair, then this is a relative harmless way to add silver to your locks.Simply be aware result will vary based on what kind of hair you have.While for some people this will make for a cool look, others like me will end up with stiff, splotchy, unbrushable hair. I'm stuck with dark brown hair which is starting to gray. I've always envied those with lighter hair, as there just isn't much in the way of color experimentation that I could do without bleach and/or making a huge mess with products that stain EVERYTHING. And now that the silver is appearing (and trendy - who knew?), I thought this might be a way to amp up what I've already got going on.My husband and son use styling waxes sometimes, and this is not the same thing at all. Usually, their waxes are stiff and sticky. This is more like a lotion. But as I'm using this more for color rather than styling, I'm not too concerned. I don't think I was expecting such a metallic silver. I think I was looking for more of a matte gray like the product photo. My hands looked like the Tin Man's hands when I was done.I started on my temples, as that's where I'm already fairly gray/silver. That worked ok. It did add a bit of oomph to that area. I then tried an area of my hair that is not so gray. Yeah, that didn't work as well. It's hard to match it to my hairline (especially without that Tin Man look I've already mentioned), and looks pretty stupid if you can't. It does dry stiff and will transfer off to your hands, etc.I'll definitely be saving this for Halloween or to let my kids play with. It's not for regular use. Read more

This gowwim Hair Wax Color Temporary Hair Dye in grey, is a shimmering silver tone, and the wax is very soft and easily spreadable and moldable, especially if you add this to your just washed damp hair. I like to mix this color with pink, and my hair is blonde, so I don't have to use a lot to get a pleasing silver-pink tint. This washes out very easily with shampoo, since it just coats your hair and is not in any way a dye. If you have darker hair, you will need to use a lot more to get the same effect, and your hair may feel sticky or stiff. For the amounts I use, like a quarter scoop once or twice, I can brush my hair and have it look fluffy. I'd highly recommend, particularly for those with lighter hair. Read more

Although this has some of the pitfalls of most temporary color, if you're looking for a metallic, this is it.Application and clean up is extremely easy. No gloves needed, because it will wipe off with soap and water. In addition, the same holds true if you get it on your face or shoulders.Applied correctly, that is to use just enough to color and not totally saturate, it doesn't flake off.
