They're ok for shorter hair (ie: if your hair is shorter than shoulder length). They won't work for my hair that is thick and mid-back length. My ponytail has to be looped/doubled over and these clips aren't big enough to handle more than a single thickness ponytail. They just aren't big enough to hold that much hair. I wanted some clips that were big enough to hold all my hair up and keep it up! I have a lot of hair but it’s thin and hard to keep up in clips because it’ll just slide through my hair. These clips are nice looking, good colors and good size, length, but they are so difficult to open I have to use two hands. I’m older and have some arthritis in my hands so a younger, stronger person would not have this issue.
