Why is it so hard to find unwaxed floss on the street? At Walgreens? CVS I understand, as they have almost nothing of nothing, to the point I don't even know why they exist, but Walgreens (San Francisco's only real drug store) sells only waxed floss---if they sell unwaxed I've never seen it on the shelf. So this is it, unwaxed floss and in goodly quantity, in a compact case. A bit pricy, for floss I would think. But what should the price be? It's good quality in that it cuts off without shredding. It doesn't break during use. I imagine you could reuse it several times if you were that cheap, or desperate, or lived somewhere so remote, without internet, and only came in for supplies once a year, but cared about your teeth.It works well in cutting yeast doughs, like when making cinnamon rolls, as I have used it. I imagine you could tie up your hair, if you have it, and were lacking something better. You could probably even strangle someone with it, but I haven't tried that one. Is unwaxed dental floss just for controlling the plaque on your teeth? Absolutely not! This wonderful, unflavored miracle worker has many uses at my house.1. I use it to truss a turkey, it is long, strong, tough, and easily removed once the turkey is roasted.2. I use it to slice a layer cake when I'm making Boston Cream Pie. You wrap the floss around the cake layer, halfway down the side. Bring it all the way around, cross the ends, then begin to pull them in opposite directions. The floss will tighten and then slice through the cake.3. I used it to tie up the muffler on my car after the dealer did shoddy repair work. I was able to hold up the muffler by stringing it under both doors and drive to a nearby welding shop. As I said, "It's long, strong, and tough."4. I'll bet you have discovered other uses. I finally got to use this dental floss and I like it. It's thin and fits very nicely between my teeth. The only negative is that I can't really see how much floss is left on the spool inside the container. Since I just started using it and have 200 yards of floss available, I don't think I'm going to run out very soon. But I won't know until someday in the future when I pull out a length of floss and find I don't have a long enough string of it to use. I'd better have a backup supply ready for that day. But I will buy this one again - it's a very good floss and it does what I need.Update: I've gone through a couple of orders of this floss and am still pleased with it. I still knock off one star because I can't see how close to the end of the spool I am. So, I always have to keep a spare handy for when the container is finally empty. It does last me a long time! Waxed flosses always leave a residue on my teeth, and are almost always not narrow enough to fit in all the crevices between my teeth. This is the best floss available if you have 'tight' teeth and/or if you care about getting them REALLY clean. Read more

Good value for money in terms of cost and quantity. However, there is no flavour (which I knew before I bought) and it is definitely a lot tougher on the gums then waxed floss. I thought it wouldn't be that big of a difference being flavourless and waxless but I was wrong. I can tolerate it and will use what I have but I definitely will not be buying this again. Read more
