I was a steady user of Oral B Ultra Floss. ( still can't believe they stopped making it ) It was great for getting between tight spaces and expanding for spaces. It is now discontinued and this GUM expanding floss is the closest thing I have found. It is really an effective floss.It expands after it gets wet so typically, as it is used, it enlarges. If you need it expanded in a hurry, you will need to wait a little bit. But it does a better job in some places than the Ultra.After the section you are using is fully expanded, if you then go to a tight space, it might be too wide and require you to work it in or move to a new place on the floss that is not yet expanded. This is where the Ultra Floss was better.Overall, it is a really great replacement for the Ultra Floss. Best one yet I have found. Read more

This floss isn't an exact replacement for the Complete Deep Clean Ultra Floss that was discontinued by Oral-B. Yes, I too was saddened by the discontinuation of another excellent product that we had come to rely on. Oral-B Complete was near perfect and you can only find it for over $30 per package now (yeah, right, I'm spending that much on floss!) Anyway, I've tried a bunch of other flosses, but this one comes as close as any to Oral-B Complete. A warning, the Gum Expanding Floss doesn't quite expand the way they show it on the package...it's stays relatively compact, and doesn't expand like you would see Oral-B Complete expand. That's ok for me though, the Gum Expanding floss fits between my teeth about the same as Oral-B Complete and does the job I need. It is not waxed, which is another good thing. I hope this review helps you avoid the time and expense of coming up with a good Oral-B Complete replacement. Happy flossing y'all! This is the best floss yet! It was recommended to me by one of the top (if not, THE top) periodontists in the greater Pittsburgh area. This stuff is great. It expands as you floss and it gets into every little crevasse around your teeth. I had always taken decent care of my teeth and gums, but I smoked cigarettes for 28 years until 18 months ago. The damage to my gums and bone area under the gums was quite severe due to the tobacco. After a couple of extensive procedures, my teeth have been saved and "there's a new sheriff in town". I'm taking the best care of my teeth and gums as humanly possible and it starts with G.U.M. Expandable, an electric brush (EACH tooth, front and back. Are the people in these positive reviews joking? If not it's a scam. I bought two of these and the floss is a little thicker than thread. The expansion part is when the threads get wet the threads start to come apart. That doesnt even make it thicker when u floss. I guess everyone can sell something to someone once in America! I love flossing. I floss multiple times a day and burn through a whole lot of string every time.Given how often I floss, it’s easy for my gums to get irritated if I’m not gentle enough or “snap” the floss through my teeth to get it to my gums. This floss was a clear winner in terms of gentleness! It didn’t snap through my teeth and, as it expanded, got way softer than threadlike floss.The BEST thing about this floss, though, is how well it cleans. The expanded surface area gets spots I wouldn’t otherwise get, especially around my teeth (the ends of the C shape). It’s way more effective, and I only end up using one long piece rather than several.This brings me to the one drawback—you only get two things of floss. As you might guess, I don’t see it as a drawback because you get quality over quantity. I use way less and it works better.Finally, it has never shredded in my gums, but I may have gap teeth. It's hard to find the regular woven floss I normally use so when I ran out and couldn't find it, I came across this. It appears to swell as you are using it and supposed to grab on to all that tartar a regular floss just can't seem to get out. This floss is not bad but it's not nearly as good as the normal woven floss that is blue and white. I will use this until I can find the type I'm looking for. This stuff simply swell up a little bit but doesn't grab onto that extra tartar like you would like it to. I'm giving it a 3 for effort. Read more

I love to floss at night and so far I had to double the amount of dental floss (advice from my dentist)to reach all the places. Anyways, since I tried this floss (free sample from the dentist) I loved it. Just insert the floss and let it loose, it expands in contact and creates the right roughness to collect all the extra stuff that is in between your teeth. I was devastated when Oral B Essential floss was discontinued. I discovered this floss in another post online and it has been my favorite ever since. It expands and is quite useful in catching any debris between the teeth. It gets the job done. The only downside is it tends to shred a bit due to the fluffy expansion, but overall, it's a fantastic substitute for my prior discontinued floss. I've already placed an order for more. Read more
