The handles are too short to apply them from the inner side of your back teeth towards the cheek. That is where most food gets trapped and not removed by brushing. The picks tend to bend easily when you try to orient them 90 degrees to your back teeth and fail to hit the space between the teeth accurately. Once the pick bends, it's useless. There just isn't enough room for your fingers to hold the pick at the proper angle on the inner side of your back teeth. I solved the problem by using a mosquito hemostat (a small locking surgical device a bit like a cross between needle nose pliers and scissors) to hold the pick handle at the proper angle. Then I can maneuver the pick easily inside my mouth. The pick itself I'd give five stars to, but the handle lacks a proper design which should be longer and perhaps offset. Read more
I love these dental picks. This is my new dental floss! Flossing is still good, but I just love the massage action these picks offer, all the while getting residual food loosened from between the teeth. Flossing can sometimes give you that unwanted surprise SMACK against your gums on teeth that are positioned more tightly together once the floss presses through. With these dental picks, you just push through and dislodge any food that is tucked away. Your mouth may actually look better and you may even "feel" better because there is less pressure between your teeth. And you wondered why you were having those slight headaches. You had junk gunked between your teeth. Well, set your mind free. It's sometimes the little things that can help. Try these dental picks.P.S. - Your gums may bleed a little bit with the first couple uses, but with consistent use and with brushing, that will go away. If you can't get through every tooth, don't be frustrated, just move on to the next tooth. No food is getting in between there anyway if it's too tight...Duhhhh! lol Read more
I have tight tolerances between my teeth and floss tends to break. I have used a plastic pick in the past with good luck and that is what I expected these to be. But they have no strength to them and once they bend, they are useless. Which means you have to line them up perfectly and push very slowly. Then if the gap isn't too tight, they work. Read more
My dentist was always telling me to switch from floss sticks to these, so I finally decided to try them but wanted to get the best ones. Both types are great for right teeth because the stick doesn’t have to get through your teeth like normal floss, you just stick them right near your gum.At first look I thought the Oral B ones would be better because they are a tad longer, thicker, and more substantial. However, the fact that they are longer is actually a problem because they wouldn’t stay straight and kept bending when I used them, and the even tiny bit thicker meant they didn’t fit in as well. So after using both kinds several time, I would definitely say these are much easier to use than the Oral B picks and definitely better at cleaning than string floss. Read more
I was looking for something just like this to clean the space between my dogs front teeth. My dog is a 17lb Westie, and she is almost 6 and recently had to get her teeth cleaned by the vet so we are trying to keep them brushed. I did not realize how her front teeth were in bad shape with a space between the front two that collected junk.I tried dental floss which was impossible to get her to sit still for, but these are so tiny and work great. I looked at a lot of options and picked this because the tip looked so small. I included a photo of one in my hand so you can see how small it is. It's smaller than I imagined and it's perfect. The tip I just dip in her toothpaste and slide between her teeth. I can brush back and forth for a few times before she gets antsy and I stop.I know it's working because the first time I did it, it started bleeding....A lot! The next day it bled a little less and after a few days it stopped bleeding and that was the end of the bleeding. She had a dark area under the gums and that is starting to look more pink...and also the one tooth was kinda loose and seems to have firmed up.I think these are great because they do the job but are soft enough to not do any damage like similar bristle brushes would. This set was under $3 and even came with a little case to put a few in.I highly recommend these. I gave some to my husband and he likes them as well. Thanks for reading my reviewBecky Brooks Read more
I have to use both picks as well as brushes. I haven't found brushes small enough for some spaces so am using these for those areas. They massage the gums and feel great. I can even reuse them (by soaking in my cleaning solution w/ my retainers) but the massaging bits come off easily so you can't reuse them many times.I do wish they weren't plastic and were more like the gum interdental brushes.. you can see the tiny brush on the left of my picture? That's all you throw away when using interdental brushes even though the gum brush handle is plastic. So you are really creating very little waste. I look forward to gum creating a tiny head like this pick that fits into the handle so we'll be able to use one handle w/ multiple heads. Read more
I've tried lots of different products to clean between teeth and this one does the job without my needing to keep changes sizes or handles. Resonable price too. Read more
I like these little picks for flossing, however I do not like how quickly the tend to bend while using them. Once they bend you have to get another one. I go through about 4 each time when flossing. Read more
