As a triathlete I’ve been in love with GU gels. I was intrigued when I came across this product. I tried these along with the Clif Bloks. Overall, the GU has a better taste and size. It’s easier to eat while biking, whereas the Clif was a little larger and harder to chew and breathe at the same time.As far as the taste goes the watermelon and blueberry were best. But all the flavors are great.I found these worked best to consume before a bike ride or a run. Then during activity I could use the gels. Essential for rehydrating in hot, dry climates. I dislike Gatorade and other "electrolyte" beverages so this allows water to "work" for me. I can drink as much water as I need and pop just a couple of these and never once get a dehydration headache (which I am highly prone to if I only drink water). I made my kids eat them during a canyoneering trip in Arizona and Utah so we could just pack water and not have to worry - worked perfectly. Chew your electolytes! I'm not going to take a star away on presentation because I think they should retire plastic wrapping in favor of something that will decompose. These are great tasty nuggets that are the electrolyte boost you need along the trail, but even without liquids can satisfy a thirst for short stretches. Easy to digest, and they don't leave a mess in their wake, unlike gels. They give you a nice energy boost while on long runs, etc. However, they can be a bit hard to put down when running hard (think tempo runs). Flavors are tasty. Recommended. Read more

These are great for any type of race! I have used them in everything revolving around triathlons, from 1/2 marathon, full Ironman and everything in between. If you are not a fan of the 'liquid,' version you will not like these, as they taste the exact same, and are a bit gritty, which is why I gave them 4 stars. These are my go to chews for energy on long cycling rides. I've tried a few different chews and the GU brand in my opinion have the best flavor. They are packaged well and fit right into the back pockets of my cycling jerseys. Very easy to eat on the go. Highly Recommend! Read more
