The cost of this product reflects the quality, suggesting this really is pure, therapeutic-grade essential oil. The colour is bright yellow, and it is thick, taking time to come out of the bottle. However the scent is not what I expected. I have used perfumes with saffron in them before, plus eaten fragrant saffron rice. So I thought I knew what I was getting. But to me this has only a faint aroma, sort of heathery and smoky like whisky, with an antiseptic tang. I have tried a couple of drops in a blend with neroli and ylang ylang in a carrier oil, and I think it adds depth, although I am not certain. I will keep experimenting with it. Read more
This is another wonderful oil from Greenwood. I've had a few from this company now, and they are all excellent, if pricy. My knowledge of essential oils is ok but not great, but given what I understand about the product, this is a very pure oil. The fact that it's saffron means it will never be cheap, of course, but you absolutely get what you pay for when it comes to oils, and even at this price, I think this is great value. The aroma is gorgeous, the colour lovely and it has a thick consistency.In terms of uses, saffron works as an anti-inflammatory oil, as well as helping with skin care and hair loss amongst other things. Be sure to use only one or two drops well diluted in a carrier oil, though.I am very happy with this and very happy to recommend. Read more
