I Love Green toys! It's a god thing that I had 4 boys because I love picking out their toys. Green Toys are made from Recycled Milk Cartons! BPA, and PVC FREE! AND made in the United States!! The packaging is cardboard and it is 100% recyclable too! They don't use any wires or pins to secure the item in the package, just the way the "cardboard" is folded and secured holds them very well- Great packaging! There are no sharp corners, very smooth surfaces!. The design is smooth and baby friendly. I love the color choices, and they make pink and purple cars and trucks for girls! The submarine floats, but it will also take on water if it is forced underwater--which works really well for hair washing and rinsing off of the body too! My grandson is 16 months old and he loves it. I also bought the tugboat, it floats, loads and pours, but I like the way the yellow submarine works better, it seems to be a more predictable pour. The "port holes" on the sides are backed by another piece of plastic so that little fingers are much less likely to get caught!I will be purchasing more green toys in the future! My son was gifted this toy, and he loves this little bathtub sub so much that I ordered one for a friend. It's really a nicely made toy, with good attention to detail. For example, the little holes are partially blocked to prevent kids from getting fingers stuck in there, and the top bit opens up on a hinge so that you can (kind of) clean inside, or get out any toys your child manages to stuff into the 'mouth'. If you drive it through the water fast, the propeller spins. It's simple enough for a baby but open-ended and cool enough to become a fun pool toy as kids get bigger, since it can either float on the surface when empty or sink/dive if you push it down so it fills with water.This has gotten the most play out of any of our bath toys, and seems to resist growing mildew and getting slimy and gross. It drains and dies well without trapping bathwater inside. It looks good as new after a good long time of basically daily water play, and I can see it lasting through multiple kids without a hitch. My 5 yr old absolutely loves this submarine both in and out of the water. It is larger than I was expecting but no matter how hard he tried to get it to sink to the bottom of the pool so mommy would have to dive after it, it did not sink. It floats great. These Green Toys are absolutely the best, hands down! What's not to love? The minute you recieve one you relize the substantial and durable quality of them. They are easy to clean and I literally can not fathom any saftey hazards whatsoever with these toys (other than if the are used as a projectile, but that is the case with most toys that are not fabric, so obviously if there is a baby in the bunch with some older toddlers or so, you should still have your eyes on the kids). I love that they are all dishwasher safe for sterilizing. We have decided to keep all the Green Toys in a toy box in our main livingroom for 2 reasons. When we have company with children or playmates visiting, they can all just dive into these toys and we don't have the aggravation of my grandson's other toys being dragged out with multiple pieces, and those are not all small child safe, and we can not just throw them in the dishwasher afterwards as we can these. These are literally worry free toys when children are visiting (other than the aforementioned throwing, or maybe banging over the head, so yes you still must parent as we should be anyway). Second, after dinner, when there is just a small window of time for bath and playtime before bed, these are hassle free and the only toys we let him drag out because they are simple and easy pickup. BONUS, they are MADE IN THE USA, and of completely recycled materials. I have not seen that many quality toys like these other than ones made in the 1940's or so, where good craftsmanship (as these are) mattered, even in a toy. Green Toys are some of the best toys ever. Great quality, durability. They are made of recycled plastics. They are colorful. The designs are adorable. Kids just love them. I recently purchased this submarine along with the tug boat, and the seaplane for my three kids (3, 6, 8). These three models all float and MAKE FANTASTIC TUB TOYS!!!My kids play with them out in the pool, bring them in for bathtime, and then dry them off and play with them some more. I'm very happy with the purchases and new additions to our fleet of Green Toy vehicles.As a parent, I couldn't ask for any more. There are no little loose pieces to pick up after. The sub floats well on the water. It's durable. It can easily be pushed under to fill with water. And, it pours water out of it's "mouth" (which my 2 year old really loves to pour water into because the submarine is 'thirsty'. The rear propeller spins easily, and when we run bathwater or use the shower head, we can get it going really fast. She loves that.It leaks water out of the rear very rapidly if you tilt it backwards. It's not a big problem at all, but you can't really keep water in it very well. Once you fill it and lift it out of the water, you will have to start pouring right away otherwise you won't have anything to pour in several seconds. Read more

My Son really enjoyed this at bath time but the propellor on the back of the boat has caused a flesh injury to my sons small finger. It has ripped the skin off due to the one edge of the propellor not being deburred properly and has caused him some discomfort to say the least. Wonderful range of toys. Excellent quality. Very sturdy and well made. Will outlast your kids and probably your grandkids too. The sort of thing you can clean up and pass down the generations.
