We ended up buying a second car seat base as we have 2 cars and we bought the Graco Modes stroller which comes with a Snugride Click Connect 35 car seat. The base is indeed completely black as the seller shows, ours that came with the stroller has a little grey bottom which does not bother me at all as I have a grey car and my husband has a black car so the black one is his and the one with the grey bottom is mine hehe. I tested the base by immediately clicking the car seat into the base. It fits perfectly, no wiggle at all. Good product! Read more

We had to have quite a few of these for all the people who help us with our new baby (one for me, my husband, my mom, my stepdad, and my dad). Our infant seat is the Graco SnugRide Click Connect 35.These bases are actually very simple to install and it only takes a few seconds; just run the seat belt through and clip it in place, making sure the base is level (it has a gauge on it, which is easy to read). The seat locks in place when you set it on the base (listen for the clicks). It actually wouldn't be a problem to just transfer one base around but they aren't really that expensive, either. We were fortunate in that my mom purchased the seat and several extra bases for most of us. I just had to buy the one for my dad. Read more

Overall, it works as intended. No issues with safety, installation etc etc. However, we recently got a new car and for whatever reason the way the car vibrates causes an incredibly annoying rattling noise in the Graco Car Seat Base. The rattle comes from the safety float level (the blue, dark blue, red level that tells you when the seat is at an appropriate incline). It's especially bad when the car seat is not in the base. It was so bad I pulled the car over to make sure something wasn't wrong with the car itself. I had to have someone drive the car while I sat in back to identify the noise.I contacted Graco support a week ago and haven't heard back. I also have two bases so I decided to switch them out to see if the new one was defective. Unfortunately it's the same between both cars. I think the only solution is going to be to completely remove the safety level. I don't really see any other option short of buying a completely different brand of car seat. Read more

Bought the Graco system (car seat and stroller) for my newborn grandson and got extra bases for myself and his other grandmommy :) Much easier than removing/installing just 1 base every time we used a different car! I actually purchased both extra bases as open box items (sold by and guaranteed by Amazon) and they both arrived in brand new condition and in the original boxes with instructions, saved a lot of money. This car seat base, once installed, keeps you from having to reinstall it when you transport the baby in a different car. It is NOT easy to install and the instructions are worthless. Basically, the straps built on to the base (and NOT your car's seat belt!) come loose and you snap the ends into the built-in baby seat hooks behind the seat cushion. Tip: the safety pin hook goes up, so you can remove it by pushing down on it later. If you hook it up with the pin down, you will not be able to get your fingers under it to remove it later. The adjustment loop on the driver's side of the base is used to tighten the base to the seat.(It will NOT be excessively tight.) Your baby seat will snap down into this base. Lift the latch that will be facing the front of the vehicle to release the Graco baby seat. The Graco seat will also fit into and be released from the Graco stroller in the same manner. Read more

I'm sure this car seat base is safe for your baby and that's the most important thing. However I found it had a basic issue that made removing the seat base difficult. The button that allows the self adjusting strap to be loosened when attaching the hooks to anchor rings in your car is EXTREMELY tight/non-responsive. So once it's installed and tightened it's almost impossible to loosen the belt and un-attach the hooks. It took me over 30 minutes. So don't buy this if you plan on switching car seats often from car to car or if you want to clean under the seat now and then. But if you are going to install it and leave it in place for a long time then it's probably okay. Otherwise it's solid and safe and the Graco car seat snaps in easily. Read more
