I was looking to get rid of my light brown and let the grey blind naturally. I first bought the M73 metallic smokey, but thankfully l read the reviews. I found out it would turn my natural grey purple! I'm a little to old for that. I also read the reviews on the metallic grey dyes and realized the do don't bleach so Wouldn't have an effect on my darker hair which I wanted to preserve. So, my solution was to use M73 smoky on the lower ends that were brown and use M72 dusty grey on top to blend the grey. I gotta say I couldn't be happier with the results! Not the best of pictures, but I got this product to make my white/gray hair be a little bolder and what I got was this awful mixed up dark brown/light brownish hair. I read the instructions and followed the instructions to the letter. This is not the first time I have ever colored my hair, I'm not a newby, I just wanted that great silver look (or close to it) that's on the box. I didn't want the lighter, but never expected this. I utilized this product on my bleached hair for only half of the recommended time. I am trying to transition into my natural salt and pepper hair. I noticed my blown out follicles were absorbing the color quite rapidly, so decided to call it at 15 minutes application time. It did a great job of toning out leftover brassiness and providing quite even coverage despite the uneven before color. My friends have referred to it as a “mushroom brown.” I hope after a few weeks of washes it’ll be just the silvery/gray I was hoping for. Read more

This turned my bleach blond hair black! I understand colors don't always turn out as they look on the box but this isn't silver in the slightest. In a few months when I'm able to start fresh again I will not be purchasing anything from this brand again even though it smells really nice and is incredibly easy to apply. Read more

I wish I had read the previous reviews. The color in this box is NOT silver, gray or any variation thereof. It is brown. Brown brown brown. I have fairly dark hair with plenty of white, but to be sure that I would get the gray look I used a lightener and went almost completely blonde. I put this on and went right back to a medium to dark brown. If I had wanted brown, I would have just kept my own hair color. Beware-- the color in the box is NOT the color on the box. Read more
