So first off.. Yes this is same but cheaper.. Yay...Now my story is.... 10 yrs ago i ulcerated a spot in my esophagus from silent reflux ( basically i had itBut wasnt bothered by it...) .... Then i was told my biopsy showed Barrett s esophagus.. And that it could becomeCancer.. Wondering what i should eat.. The pa said , " it wont matter.. We're gonna just shutThose pumps down" .. She put me on 60 mg a day of prevacid ( basically 2×rx dose 4× otc)I thought Great.. Under control.. Then i went down the rabbit hole of wetherOr not thats good?.. After all I never knew anyone who took a high doseOf something meant for 2 wks??!!So the short version is.. They dont really know what long term effects are but the ones they doKnow are quite scary, from heart\ strokeo kidney to c dif etc... Not to mentionVitamin\ mineral deficiencies... Stomach acid does some important things ... Digest food... Keep bad bacteriaAt bay.. Kill off things ya ate n shouldnt haveSo i took myself off.. Now keep in mind that i never had symptoms .. That wasUntil i tried to go off.. And was introduced to rebound acid!!.. Turns out thatAfter surpressing it.. It kinda goes bonkers... So i figured out how to dump pelletsOut to make stepdown capsules..So i learned to change some things and to use acv with meals and a baking soda pillDaily on an empty stomach ( remember you Need acid to break down your food)Do i still use these ppi s.. Yes on occasion.. For a week or 2 usually after holidays or vacaBut thats it.. So i do think they can really help if you've irtitated your belly..But would i ever take them long term?..NO WAYAnd as it turns out.. I just had a scope and a diff doc in the practice told me thatHe doesnt think i ever had barrets and that the cells were sampled in an area where it wasToo close to where those cells do belong( nutshell is b cells are intestinal cells that yourBody puts higher up cuz intestines can handle acid)So.. Omg.. Thank God i took myself off..Now i did wonder with these.. What IS THE DIFFERENCE with the 3Big "prazoles"... This is what i found.. You may find this interestingPrilosec, Nexium and Prevacid function in the same manner and share many indications and side effects, their chemical structures vary slightly. These slight variations are the most likelycause for the few differences we see in their side effects and approved indications. Both Prilosec and Nexium interfere with the function of St. John’s Wort and rifampin, while Prevacid does not. On the other hand, Prevacid contains phenylalanine, meaning patients with phenylketonuria may want to choose one of the other two.Neither Prevacid nor Prilosec should be taken by patients receiving rilpivirine products, and Prilosec may interfere with the action of certain antibiotics....Interesting...🐈🐈🐈🐈🐈 for this knock off Read more
These work really well for GERD. Every few months for over 15 years I had to jump through a bunch of hoops to get affordable acid reflux medication from my doctor, and now I don't. I'm stoked that these are available and inexpensive. I don't use PPIs every day (as they were prescribed to me originally) because it makes the reflux worse in the long-run, and long-term use is associated with osteoporosis. My reflux got way better when I stopped taking PPIs every day. But every once in awhile I get reflux bad enough that I'll use a PPI instead of Zantac, and this brand works really well for that. They also sell this bottle in a couple of combo pack sizes that are way, way more economical. Read more
