I use a few supplements to help hold my body together and one of those is glucosamine & Chondroitin. Weight training 4 times a week along with JJ/Wrestling adds a little extra stress on the joints. A few months back, I stopped using GC (save a few bucks) and noticed my knees and elbows started giving me problems. I decided to add GC back into my supplement line-up but wanted something with a good price point..so I selected this product.The pills are small and you take two per day, so one bottle will last a month. Easy to swallow. No smell or after taste. I have acid reflux and it did not cause flair up like other pills have.I have noticed the swelling in my hands from authritis has gone down considerably and the pain is rare. ....going to be enough for you???So, I take so many supplements that I have resisted taking one of these, plus I just added a different type of "joint support" supplement.Misses Shops too much has been taking one of these for quite a while.We normally get ours from that warehouse that sells the rotisserie chickens for $4.99.On their brand, their package, they recommend 2 caplets which supplies 1500mg glucosamine and 1500mg MSM.She only takes one; so she's getting 750mg of each.So taking two of these, which is what the bottle directs, if I understand the bottle correctly, supplies 1000mg TOTAL combined of the two (glucosamine/MSM) so 500mg of each.As with all supplements, you should get guidance from your trusted medical professional; if you're just starting out, or have other supplement or medication concerns/conflicts, this might be a good place to start; that's for you and that professional to determine.So, the item itself:These are a medium size capsule, in a gelatin/like outer covering.There is white powder inside.When you open the bottle, there is a slight smell; nothing overwhelming or offensive.When you put them in your mouth there is no taste or smell bleed over.They are easy to swallow.If Misses Shops too much notices any changes from her usual product, I will update this review to that effect.I hope this review has enabled you to make an informed purchase decision.I rarely give an overall 5 star rating. I just got these and started taking them, so my review is based upon initial impressions. The capsules are averaged sized and the two-pill dose is easy to take. No aftertaste, odor, or digestive issues taking them. I ran out of my previous Costco-brand joint supplement and decided to try this, I'll update my review if I feel and noticeable change positive or negative. My complaint with this one is the unhelpful ingredient description. It lists the dose as 1000mg of a proprietary blend of glucosamine, chondroitin, and MSM but is not clear on how much of each you're getting. My guess is you're getting a pretty low dose of each (except perhaps the MSM, which is normally a lower percentage of blended joint supplements). My previous brand had 1500mg of glucosamine and 1200mg of chondroitin, so by all indications this is a much weaker supplement - hence my two star rating. That would also reduce the value proposition if my suspicions are correct. If that's not the case, they need to clarify the proprietary blend details. These are medium-sized capsules, measuring 21.1 mm (.831 inch) long. They’re full of off-white powder. I find them easy to swallow.A serving of two capsules provides 1,000 mg of a “proprietary blend” of glucosamine, chondroitin, and MSM. This is an annoying way to label these pills, since we have no way of knowing how much of each ingredient they contain. This company is using the word “proprietary” as if the exact ratio of these three ingredients is some trade secret they want to protect, but I suspect it’s their way of filling these pills with more of the cheap ingredient, MSM, and less of the more expensive ingredients, glucosamine and chondroitin, without having to tell us details. There is some evidence that glucosamine and chondroitin help relieve joint pain, but the evidence supporting MSM is weaker. I’m taking off a star for the vague labeling. Read more
