Works worldwide. No need for a transformer. You just need a plug converter. The USA version comes with two flat pins and the sticker on the plug reads 'input 100-240v 50/60Hz 0.5A'. Goes in sideways into my converter, (which was less than £2.) Works great. I put a tea towel over it to protect my eyes from the light. I like having a lit 'on' button. I don't want a sensor. But I keep touching the inside with wet nails! They're not even long!!! I'll get use to it I'm sure. The updated 18G might be better for client use. I'm not sure but might not be covered by manufacturer guarantee and possibly professional insurance, if bought on Amazon. When I purchased this Harmony Gelish 5-45 LED Gel Light I thought it was pricey. However, I've saved more than the price of the unit in being able to do my own gel polish on my nails. You push the button to turn it on and it is timed for 45 seconds. And that really is all the time you need to cure each coat. It is amazing.
