This balm comes in a very small container (in the photos I chose a standard eyeliner sharpener for a size reference), but that doesn’t matter, as a little of this stuff goes a long way. It smells great, and it spreads easily, and it doesn’t leave skin feeling greasy. I think the most impressive aspect of this balm is how much it minimizes the pain of stretching. I know everyone says that if you’re stretching your ears and it hurts then something is wrong, but even stretching as slowly as possible and leaving several months between stretches for healing time, there will still be some amount of pain when/after inserting a new taper and plug. This made stretching absolutely painless, and the taper slid through my ear without sticking. Transitioning from the taper to the plug afterward was way easier than it ever was before, thanks to this balm. I’ll definitely be recommending this to my friends, and when I run out (I feel like this will take a long time) I’ll be buying more.The one thing I will suggest to prospective buyers is to look through the ingredients list and make sure you don’t have allergies to any of them. I would 100% recommend this!!! I have gauged up to a 4g without a problem simply by doing it immediately following a hot shower. I never had to leave the tapers in and was able to switch to plugs right away. Flash forward to the other day when I lost one of my plugs when I was playing with my daughter at the park. I had been planning to size up soon anyways, so I figured that was the perfect time to do it. For the first time ever I was unable to fully get the taper through and had to leave it in overnight. It was extremely painful, and I don't like having to drag out the process so I started researching products to make it easier. I found this and was somewhat skeptical but decided to try it because I plan on going up a few more sizes anyways. I am SO GLAD I DID!! By the time it got here a few days later I had finished sizing up one side but had not done the other. I used the balm on the second side and WOW! It was literally like I buttered my ear. Lol the taper slid through so fast it came out the other side. 🤣 It's been a few days since doing this and the side I used the balm on feels completely back to normal, and the side I did without it is itchy, but no longer sore. I don't do reviews often. But this stuff is amazing! I just started to gauge my ears and it was ruff to start cleaning hurt taking them in and out to get everything off. But with this they go in like butter, keep my ears from drying out. I LOVE it. It is a small little container and at first was like "well I bought a mini thing of bag balm" until I tried it. This is a miracle balm. My right ear has had the hardest trouble stretching since the get-go. My original piercing was on a slant so every size up irritated and hurt the lobe. After I tore it going to an 0g I stopped stretching for three months. This ear has been one size smaller than my left for my entire stretching journey… until I found this balm.It’s so smooth, buttery, and smells decent. After my shower I massaged the balm onto my lobe for a while before attempting the 00g taper which has always failed to push through without pain. With this balm is went right through on the first try. My gauges are FINALLY the same sizes. This works better than any oil or lotion I have tried. This stuff is amazing. I was skeptical because, I mean how much easier can stretching your ear holes get, but I just used it to size up to a 14g taper from a 16g and it was super quick and painless. I massaged it onto my ear and then coated the taper. My ear's definitely not as red and irritated as when I didn't use this (last time when I went from 18g to 16g). And a little bit goes a long way! This has been the best product I've used for lubricant. Before, I was using a mixture of oils I make myself, which still works perfect, but the oils are much more messy and runny. This stuff is a texture similar to petroleum jelly and is a lot easier to apply and sticks where you want it to be.I've been using the same pot since I started stretching last year from 18g to 00g where I currently am and I still have about 1/4 of product left. I’m really impressed with this stretching balm. I was trying to go up one size (from 2g to 1g) and I tried to put the larger size in without this balm and it wouldn’t go in. It was very uncomfortable trying to push it in. So I tried the next day with this balm and it was so much easier going in! I never used anything like this before so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I cannot say enough good things about this product!!! I had previously stretched my ears when I was younger, at which time I used the tape (not taper) method with plenty of emu oil to lube up my ear holes before insertion. With Gauge Gear, I have been able to painlessly slide in the tapers and then the jewelry in a matter of seconds. Even though it comes in a tiny container, you barely need any each time you size up.
