I have a long history of GI issues, mostly upper. Indigestion, GERD, gastritis (chronic with flares), peptic ulcers, and severe dyspepsia from all of the issues. This started early for me, about age 24 during nursing school (go figure, STRESS).I can typically keep myself to only intermittently suffering via diet control, however recently I went through a very busy time in my life and my diet fell on the back burner. Before I knew it, I was suffering with one of the most painful ulcers in my stomach that I’ve ever had, as well as just baseline gastritis. I could barely eat, I was in severe pain and missing work.I tried cabbage juice, it works to make you feel better but tastes like death lol. It’s also very time consuming and expensive as the cabbage heads don’t yield much juice (even using my Omega masticating juicer).Enter Gastrazyme. I did some research as I became intrigued as to why the cabbage juice worked so well. I learned about the MSM present in the cabbage as well as a few other components that allow your stomach to heal rapidly. I did use a few other things to heal. They’re as follows--I took a PPI (Prilosec was my choice) for 2 weeks in order to allow the stomach to heal without having the burden of so much acid making contact.-Gastrazyme. 2-4 tablets with each meal. I took more at first when it was very bad, then lowered for maintenance. I am still taking these to ensure I heal and stay healthy.- L-glutamine powder. This is such a vital part of healing also. If you do some research on this amino acid, you will find it has an incredible ability to rebuilding epithelial tissue in the gastric wall. It is even thought to be able to utilize the amino acid in contact. So I took this in the morning and at night on an empty stomach. Roughly 5 grams each dose.-Barleans Stomach Repair powder. This is optional. It contains aloe, charcoal, mastic gum, DGL, and a few other ingredients known for helping to heal the stomach as well as kill off H. Pylori. I have waited months before posting a review because I wanted to be certain that I wouldn't be changing my mind about my opinion a few weeks later. I have had gastritis for about 6 years. I don't suffer from heartburn, but have had daily stomach pain with some days better than others, and still other days so bad that I wanted to go to the hospital, but didn't because I knew I would just end up with a huge bill and nothing but nexium! I have had numerous endoscopies, many visits to my Gastro and tried countless meds and natural alternatives with no significant results. Years ago I complain to my chiropractic physician that I was having stomach pain that I couldn't identify it felt like somebody was digging their fist in my stomach and the only thing that would halfway relieved it was if I would lay down flat on my stomach and try to go to sleep. He said it sounded like the beginning of an ulcer and that the gastrazyme would help heal the lining of my stomach. He recommended gastrazyme to me and I took it for about a month and didn't have the stomach pain for a few years. Then it started up again and everytime I get that stomach pain I just take it for a month or two and then it goes away and doesn't come back for a long while. I would highly recommend it.
