My hair can end up kind of dull looking because I air dry my hair and don’t put heat in it, plus I don’t like to put a lot of oil in it because it weighs it down.I read about this stuff on Buzzfeed and purchased it to put a little extra shine in my hair without adding any extra oil.It does the trick, keeps it soft and it also helps with frizz but I do notice that I experience a tiny bit more shedding than normal if I put this in my hair when it’s dry as opposed to wet, but it’s not enough to be worrisome. Also it smells lovely, kind of fruity with a hint of flowers! It always flummoxes me when people claim they can do heatless styles with a certain product, but don’t explain any of the work that went into it so I’m gonna break it down for you.To get it to look like the 1st ,2nd, and 3rd pictures without heat, here’s what I do.After washing I put about a quarter to a quarter and a half sized amount of this cream into my hand and work it through to the scalp, I also put in about a nickel and half sized amount of jojoba and the same amount of TGIN( found on Amazon) paying special attention to my ends. Then I add a dime sized amount of Pureauty biotin hair serum I also found on Amazon, let it air dry till my hair is just vaguely damp but not totally dry*3 hours if I leave it down and about 6 hours if I need to run errands and leave it up in a loose high bun*, brush it out then put my hair up in pink sponge rollers overnight(10 for a dollar at the Dollar Tree!😮)taking care to put a dab of jojoba and this cream on my dry af ends when rolling.I brush it out in the morning and it is GIANT, I seriously look like little orphan Annie, then I wrangle it into a high bun for a few hours *sometimes I have to put a dime sized amount of jojoba in it because my hair is so naturally dry*and when I take out the bun, it turns out like the 1st picture. It looks like the 2nd and 3rd pictures the next day and until it’s time to wash my hair again.I sleep in the high bun( covered with a scarf to keep my edges smooth)to keep the hair and curls controlled and falling like I like.I put about a dime sized amount of the cream in my hair for daily maintenance of frizz and shine until it’s time to wash it again, which is about every 5 days depending on how much I work out. Please note that my hair is very dry, thick and there is a lot of it, so you may have to adjust the amount of product you put in your own hair depending on your hair type and length. This process takes a bit of work, but my hair does not like heat so I’m kind of married to it if I want to keep hairs on my head.🤷🏽♀️That said,it’s all shiny and it looks like I just came from the hair salon!I posted some pics of the process to help you out if you want to try it.Depending on where you look at the review, the pictures may or may not be in order, so I labeled them just in case. The first 3 pics are what it looks like after I’ve completed my efforts, the 4th pic is of my hair right after I’ve washed it, the 5th pic is of my hair up in my ridiculous running errands high bun, the 6th pic is what my hair looks like after its air dried. The 7th pic is my hair haphazardly up in pink sponge rollers. There is no rhyme or reason to the curl pattern if I’m not doing a specific style. The goal is just to get it rolled. The 8th pic is after I took out the rollers and the last pic is the high bun I put it up in to tame my giant hairs.I promise you that not one lick of heat has touched my hair to get it to look like the 1st,2nd, and 3rd pictures, that’s just what it looks like after a few hours in the bun and then the next day after sleeping in the high bun.I do love this product but gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because of the shedding issue.I can’t promise that your hair will look like mine after using this product since the texture of my hair (2C with super frizzy ends that no trim or cut ever seems to gets rid of)may be different than yours and I use a combination of things( listed above if you want to give my method a whirl) but I can say that this product worked for me and I’m glad I added it to my hair care regimen.🤓 Read more
Okay, so, something I feel like you should know with this product: this leave-in conditioner, and most Garnier products I’ve found, is really thick. This product is about the same consistency as ketchup, so what I ended up doing with this is kind of using it like a “from concentrate” and mixing the product with like a 1:1 or 1:2 of product:water to dilute it down. That’s good for us, because you get more for less, compared to other brands where the conditioner is basically the same consistency as water.Even with diluting it, I can tell a noticeable difference in how my hair feels (for the better) for up to two days after applying it. I bought this product based on the reviews. This left my hair sticky, dull and dry. Im confused about all the amazing reviews. This is a pass. I’m glad it was just an add on item. Read more
I bought this to use for my wash and gos (I'm not big on the ingredients needing to be all natural and blah blah blah. I am a college student on a budget, people). I have 3b and 3c curls, low porosity hair with medium strands and high density. The fact that alcohol is the 2nd ingredient annoyed me because everyone and their uncle talks about how bad and drying it is for hair. However, I've looked at a lot of hair products and the majority of leave-ins have it as the second or third ingredient. So I've learned to accept it. Now the product itself is ok, but not great. I bought it to combat frizz, it didn't really help much. It's not something you can use alone if you have curly hair. I pair it with Garnier Deep Nourish 5 Action Elixir, my beloved OGX Argan conditioner (a curly's bff) and my Beautiful Textures gel, then sit under a hooded dryer on low heat for an hour (I know! My hair takes forever to dry! Air drying literally takes 6 hours, and diffusing also takes forever AND hurts my arms). This leave-in but I honestly can't say that it's amazing enough to repurchase. Now Garnier Fructis' Whole Blends Coconut and Triple Nutrition Curl Butter Cream leave ins are holy grail items for me. So much moisture!!! Read more
My smile froze yesterday, as my 17-year-old came to me so I could work on her washed and conditioned hair. I thought, "How on Earth will I tame, that beautiful, very thick hair?!" And when I first rubbed on this leave-in conditioner, it didn't do much, other than soften her hair. But as I then combed, brushed, lightly blow-dried, then flat-ironed her hair, section by section, her kinks relented (smile)! I felt like a pro, as her tangles left her. And now, the day after I did my daughter's hair, she has long, bouncy locks! I definitely will keep using this, to control washed, natural, unruly hair! Read more
Smells nice is the only nice thing about this product. My hair is thin, dry and frizzy. This product did nothing for it but leave a residue that DID NOT make my hair feel soft. It actually looked like I left a hair product in my hair. UghDoes not soften hair, makes it look less frizzy because it leave a sticky residue. As for shine...what shine. I could have left ANY hair conditioning product in my hair with same results. Most unhappy with product, as I went by the "glowing" reviews. Read more
This product is great. I used to use it as a child before it disappeared from UK shelves, disappointing my whole family. It's really good at smoothing and moisturising curly hair, it doesn't have any hold, leaves your hair soft, has a fresh citrus scent and makes detangling a breeze. My only issue with it is the availability. I should have bought a couple bottles at once when I had the chance because now it's no longer on prime and the price from third-party sellers can go as high as £40 for just one bottle! Ridiculous. If it comes back to a reasonable price (below a tenner) and is available on prime, then I'll buy it regularly but I'm pretty annoyed by this. Read more
I'm plagued with hair that frizzes in damp or humid weather. This product has put an end to that - so much so that I've been able to stop using hairspray for the first time in years. This is an excellent product. You only need a little amount so don't put too much on or your hair will look greasy. Add a little onto your towel dried hair (using a bit more on the ends if you like) or use it as a "sleeker" on your dry hair. All my family and friends now use this product. Try it - you'll love it Read more
Too thick. Made my hair a bit stiff even with only a small amount. No chance of running fingers through it. Personal preference but oil is for me Read more
Leaves hair soft and manageable but did not work to define curls. It does not feel like product overload, greasy or heavy like other leave-in products, so I am happy with results Read more
Have purchased this before and it really works well on dry ends. Read more
