As a 35 + year retired cosmetologist I can tell you this eyeliner is terrific. It stays on and it's not too soft. However, if you sharpen it too pointy, the tip may break off. It's not so smooth as to smear but not too stiff to pull your eyelid if you build with it. Start out lightly with a thin layer and go over it once. Do not tug your eyelid and all will be fine. I love the ingredients and it has no smell and will last a very long time. Only sharpen with one or two turns at most. This is the best eyeliner color and quality of pencil that I've ever used. It is a subtle grayish-green. Gives a very natural look with enough green to it to make my blue eyes "pop". Gabriel is the best! Totally non toxic. I'm allergic to castor oil however and the chocolate brown ( new color ) doesn't have it. Yeah!! Their lipstick also doesn't have it (Yeah!!) when Mineral Fusion and their Zulu line does. The liner looks great and stays on all day for work. It is so difficult to find a good blue eyeliner. I used a different high-end brand for many years but then the product got discontinued. I searched for another blue eyeliner pencil for a long time and could never find a good one. They are either too dark, or too light, or almost impossible to apply. I bought this eyeliner because I wanted to switch to an eyeliner that was more natural/organic. I tried it when I received it and it glided on smoothly which was a plus. However, about 20minutes later I noticed that my eyes began to feel a slight burning sensation. Not sure which of the ingredients was causing it nor if it's because I am personally sensitive to one of the ingredients. Although when I checked the ingredients there was nothing listed that I'm allergic to. Also, I noticed that the product does not state anywhere on the package that it is hypo-allergenic. I ordered this eye pencil because I have extreme gluten sensitivity and need to have gluten free makeup. I loved the color and found that it went on quite easily. But after 8 hours of wearing it my eyelids were completely swollen and itchy-- so much so that it took major medicine and 2 more days for them to return to normal. I don't know what I reacted to in the eye pencil-- admittedly I have very sensitive eyes when it comes to allergies. But something in this really did a number on me. My eyes are very sensitive and I spent a long time trying to find a product that wouldn't give me a rash and this works perfectly. This eye liner goes on really easy and stays on pretty much all day.
