This is my third time nursing a newborn. I have been using the My Breast friend pillow with extra pillows shoved underneath, and the same with the Boppy. Both have been so uncomfortable and difficult to correctly position each time. So I purchased this pillow with the hopes that the adjustable height would help. The width is awesome! I can comfortably sit cross legged on my couch with this pillow and nurse. The firm flat top is great for a newborn, and the cushioning on the bottom side is comfortable on my lap. The adjustable back support strap fits comfortably, even with my plus size frame. The only downside is that it has a very strong plastic smell right out of the package. I’m hoping that goes away in the next few days. Even though this is my past baby, it was definitely worth the price to make our nursing experience more comfortable. Read more

I bought this pillow for my second child after having the “my breast friend pillow” for my first. This one is a little too tall (even with removing inserts) and it’s VERY heavy. I could move the my breast friend pillow with one hand, but I can’t with this one. The back padding is great, but it slips off ALL THE TIME, so I have to put it back on before almost each nursing session. I could slide the my breast friend pillow to the side for a football hold, but it’s awkward when sliding this one to the side and my baby seems to roll into me more and not fit completely on the pillow (and he’s just a newborn). This pillow has a strong memory foam smell and is very hard, so doesn’t feel super comfortable for my little one. I’m sending this one back and getting another my breast friend pillow. Read more

I'm a new mom with a seven week old baby. We had tried a different nursing pillow, but I was having a hard time with positioning my baby. He sat too low, which meant that I was constantly bent over him to help with his latch. I had lower back pain simply because it was difficult to find a good position for nursing. I am actually sad about this purchase. Very expensive pillow, I bought because I really like the baby health products and loved (LOVED) frida moms breastfeeding line ad, but this pillow couldnt be less ergonomic. I get all tensed up from neck to hip to be able to hold my baby at my breast, the positioning for my baby is also not smooth even tough we are having a great breastfeeding relationship for almost 3 months now and she gets very nervous at this pillow, which makes me nervous every time. Luckily I bought this to be my 2nd pillow and have my boppy pillow that works perfectly and is so simple. Why do you need 3 layers of pillow amd rubber when no combimation of them works properly? And why would you ever need a flat surface to place your baby to nurse at all?? I feel like placing her in a table to nurse, I am sorry but this pillow doesn’t make any sense. The Frida Nursing Pillow is a game changer!Both me and Dad like to use it. Dad has back issues and this helps him bottle feed our baby with ease. It also helps me from having to lean over so much when nursing. Before I bought the Frida, I used the Boppy pillow to nurse my baby boy. The Frida is much higher than the Boppy, and since it has a strap it stays in place. The strap makes nursing time so much more relaxing since you aren't having to keep adjusting the pillow. I like that it has two different sides. One side is more flat and firm, and the other is more round and soft. I mostly use the firm side. My baby is almost 2 months old. I also noticed you could give your little one tummy time as well, on the firm side of course. We love to eat together as a family, but ever since my little one was born my partner and I have to take turns watching baby in order to eat dinner. It happens often that my baby wants to nurse when our dinner is ready. Recently, I tried using the Frida to nurse my baby while sitting at the dinner table. It worked out perfectly! My baby got to nurse while we ate dinner. It was the best feeling to be able to eat dinner together again. Read more

We have a bedside bassinet so it works best to nurse baby in bed at night. My trusty Boppy from my firstborn doesn't get baby high enough so I end up bending forward unless I mega prop it up with pillows. I wanted something higher and this fits the bill, but it's bizarrely firm and leaves a big gap between the pillow and my baby. Baby rolls in and has to be set back on the firm flat top. Clipping the belt on helps but if I have it clipped I can't lean forward to grab baby from the bassinet or set him back in after a nurse.It's also a little lopsided somehow so one side still needs a blanket prop to keep his head level with his belly.When we first unwrapped it, it had a wildly strong plastic smell from the foam components and the cover still had the smell after a run through the washer. Putting all pieces out in the sun for a day worked great to speed up the offgassing and it doesn't smell at all now.I wish I could figure this thing out because it's a great idea and well made, it just doesn't seem that functional. I'm hoping I can pass it to a friend so it's not a waste of plastic! Read more

Life changing. Throw away the other breastfeeding pillows you have now and get this! I just had my second son and was using the Boppy, but complained to a friend about bath pain. She recommended this and I can’t believe how much better it is. So much support, baby is comfortable and feeding way better, and I have two hands free!
