This is my second pregnancy taking Floradix. First time around I tested quite anemic and my midwife recommended I start Floradix right away. Just taking the normal dose for a few weeks I was able to bring my numbers well in to the normal range, and thanks to Floradix have the out of hospital birth I wanted. This pregnancy I started taking it preemptively around 20 weeks. Currently nearing 29 weeks and feeling much less fatigue then I did with the first pregnancy. Haven't had my levels tested yet, but as good as I feel this time I'm feeling pretty confident (will update after testing). I also enjoy the taste, kind of a nondescript fruit flavor. We are a vegetarian family and my son is a VERY picky eater so I've been worried about his iron. Started sneaking the kid size dose into his orange juice and even with his almost extra sensory ability to detect whenever I try to change his food in the slightest, it has gone undetected for the several weeks I've been giving it to him. This is magic in a bottle. I've been anemic most of my life and I've just delivered my third child. With each pregnancy, I was anemic and this last pregnancy, severely anemic. I had 9 weeks of IV iron infusion so 9 treatments total. I can't tolerate oral iron, it gives me diarrhea and even the IV iron gives me horrible diarrhea. Even after the IV iron, I still was anemic but less than before. After my delivery with normal blood loss and a postpartum hemhorrage, my hemoglobin & hematocrit was so low they were debating giving me a blood transfusion. I had anemia all my life. The kind where they spin your blood for a quick hemoglobin count and then look at you with real concern to ask if you're okay... because you shouldn't be. I needed surgery to help fix this issue, but my iron was way too low for me to even safely have the surgery. The doctor said I needed to take Floradix or have a transfusion. Floradix did it. 2 shots, twice daily, and my iron was high enough in 3 weeks to pass the pre-op bloodwork!I was skeptical. I had done ferrous sulfate in all its crazy forms. With Vitamin C. With amino acids wrapped around. I swear, if there was a version with it wrapped in unicorn drool, I would have tried it. Ferrous sulfate just killed my GI system. I hated it - if you didn't already get that. The Floradix, however, tastes like Ricola without the sugar. I use it every time I want to donate my blood to the vampires... I mean blood bank. One day my Dr said I look a bit yellow, so she tested my iron. Turned out I was very anemic (love my Dr). She told me to take Floradix with orange juice for vit C (for better absorption). I ignored her advice, and took Floradix alone. 3 months later - no improvement in bloodwork! I do not drink orange juice (lots of fructose). So I started taking floradix just after I take my daily vit C (1g), which is after meals. 3 more months later - results much better, but need to continue.I suspect that Floradix works so well because it is sweet (due to added grape juice), so people take it much more regularly than tasteless pills. I started taking this during my last pregnancy when my doctor told me I was "a little anemic." After taking it about 3 weeks, my blood test showed my iron levels were normal! Wasn't constipating, and I usually took 10-15ml with a meal twice a day (instead of 30 min before meals like the directions say.) Floradix has always made a huge difference in my health. It gives you a boost in energy within 1 week. It's the best Vitamin supplement that I know.It does change in taste within 2 weeks of opening the 500ml bottle, so you have to be consistent, as otherwise it'll spoil.This is bar my fav supplement. Je souffre d'une anémie qui a beaucoup de mal à se soigner à cause de pertes de sang très importantes pendant mes règles. Mon stock de fer est très bas. J'ai passé des mois à avoir du mal à me déplacer (vertiges, malaises, essouflement au moindre effort, tachycardie etc). J'en suis à 10 jours de prise de Floradix et je dois dire que l'effet commence peu à peu à se faire ressentir. Ce n'est pas un produit miracle mais le fait d'avoir enfin passé 48h sans avoir de vertiges ou de malaise est déjà miraculeux en soit. Je recommande ce produit. Read more
