I don't know what to say about this shipment. I have used this product for years and it has been highly effective. I just opened the newest bottle I received. The product looks totally different. The product I am used to was a clear, soft gel capsule with a dark tan liquid inside. This product is a very hard capsule, consistency of plastic, opaque, and the contents seems solidified rather than liquid, and is a light milky yellow. I don't know if this is a new manufacturing process or a manufacturing error or if something else got put in the bottle by mistake. Worse, I called the phone number on the bottle and found that it has been reassigned to another business. The distributor is listed as BSP Pharma but I cannot find any way to contact them. I went to the FlexNow website and sent an e-mail query but I have no response after more than a week. Something happened but I don't know what. I had been dealing with systemic inflammation from October until May when I finally sought medical help because of chronic stiffness from my hip girdle down to my knees. This would get very bad after periods of rest, especially after exercise, and in the last two months it got so bad after waking up in the morning I could hardly walk more than a few inches at a time to the bathroom. My doctor ordered bloodwork which showed systemic inflammation. He suspected PMR (Polymyalgia Rheumatica) which is treated with steroids. He also wanted me to see a rheumatologist. A holistic Doctor Who had treated me for Lyme disease several years ago recommended this product to me. After using this product for a few weeks, I began to notice irregular heartbeats. (Although I'd had occasional palpitations before, I'd never experienced anything like this.) They became more and more frequent until I went to my doctor and had a 24 hour heart monitor test. It showed various kinds of arrhythmias, some very frequent. I was asked several times if anything had changed in my life. I couldn't think of anything until finally I remembered that I'd started taking FlexNow some weeks before. On the chance that that was the problem, I stopped. The irregular heartbeats gradually became less from that point on. Months later I am still not back to where I was before, but I am having far less arrhythmias than I was. It's hard to imagine that it is a coincidence that the problem started a few weeks after starting the FlexNow and immediately started to improve after stopping taking it. My osteopath who recommended the product said "any supplement can do anything to anybody" (although none of her other patients had this reaction). I thought I'd add my review just in case someone else has side effects. I feel it's highly irresponsible to claim that anything has no side effects. I was recommended this product by a friend who's Mother used it. The Mother's orthapedic surgeon recommended it to he after knee surgery. I do not want to take narcotics for my pain and even if I did I can work my job on narcotics. I was amazed at what this product did for me. I became even more convinced when I ran out. My pain level started to climb again and became unbearable. Anyone who has chronic pain understands how pain can completely wear you out. I was constantly tired and exhausted. After starting this product again my pain slowly started coming down again. And my energy levels came back up to normal, where I could continue to work, and take care of my family as I should. I should point out, I ran out due to a certain seller not shipping in a timely manner. I have been taking this for a few months and haven't noticed a difference but that is not the reason for the three star review. I just noticed that it contains carrageenan. I am a PhD nutritionist and recently attended Dr. Andrew Weill's annual nutrition conference. While there, several of the speakers talked about the need to eliminate carrageenan from the many products that contain it. It can cause inflammation and disease. It's too bad that a product meant to eliminate inflammation could actually create it. For more about this see Dr. Weill's post at [...] I believe this information is relatively new and was discovered after FlexNow formulated their product so I can only hope that they reformulate it to remove this harmful ingredient. I feel very concerned about taking three of these per day, as recommended, on a long term basis.I have been trying to call the company for several days now.
