My son LOVED this when he was 8 to 12 months old. He was always opening and closing the doors, putting the animals in, and taking them out. At 15 months old, he hasn't played with it in awhile. Bought this for our almost 1yr old daughter for Christmas. She loves playing with it and putting everything she can inside the house, by lifting the roof. I like that it does have two volume settings (and a off). We also have the girl dog with the pink car. Item is very sturdy and well build, our child will sit on it sometimes (she's wanting to walk so she'll stand and then sit on it and smile).Originally I was iffy about buying it but I am happy I did. My son loves playing 'house' with this toy (he is 16 months old). The doorbell and light switch are two of his favorite parts. He was actually obsessed with the life size version of the Fisher-Price play door at an indoor playplace, so this was a less expensive (and more space friendly) alternative. I do appreciate that there are two levels to the volume because the highest setting can be pretty loud for little ones. Overall this is a fun toy to teach off/on, open/close, day/night and the concept of receiving mail and having friends over. I bought this for my nephew for his first birthday and he loves this toy! He loves loading puppy and his friend in and out of the roof which opens and closes and is obsessed with turning the lights on and off. I would recommend this toy for any child. Both my kids love this toy. My son was fascinated with the "puppy house" at around age 2 at school so I bought it for home. The Fisher Price toys that I got a few years ago look almost like new after the frequent play. These toys can probably last a few generations of children. The plastic is thick and smooth and doesn't break when treated roughly. Good quality toy that was played with for a long time from the age of 6 months until more than 2 years. Excellent little house toy. The design is really well done to prevent any small fingers getting pinched, and can be enjoyed as soon as kiddo is interested in opening the roof lid, then has longevity as a small doll house so can be used for years. My favourite aspect is that the toy shuts up when it's not actively being played with (on all the settings) and you don't have to listen to songs being started and interrupted constantly because of the multiple sound settings, one of which is simple little sound effects (doorbell, door creaks, light switch clicks).
